I'm an athiest and a taoist (yes they can go together) and i think this is just wonderful. We are all different and believe different things, or nothing. Stephanie is truly an insperation, and I read her blog daily. The love she has for her family and her life truly shines brightly enough to make my own relationships better and make me value and love life and family more. I don't care if this is a "Mormon Message". It's a human message, It's a love message.
I'm mormon (the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints ) I believe in my savior my lord Jesus Christ , I believe in god , he is Heavenly Father , every hard time I find hope in the gospel , I have 4 years in this church and I wanna be here for the rest of my life , (sorry for my bad English)
I have been doing lessons with my local missionaries and I have began to feel the holy spirit. I look forward to waking up everyday and actually feel happy for the first time in my life. I'm also quitting smoking so I may get baptized
I cannot imagine the strength it takes this woman to live her day-to-day life. I'm not a member of her church, but appreciate the love she has for our God, and the miracles he delivers us. Bless you, Stephanie. Bless you.
My day is full of peace, love, grateful and thankful! My first time to listen and watch this beautiful story, is one of my school work. The spirit leads me to this wonderful and beautiful story of this beautiful young Mama. I will like to say you are an ANGEL!
I am not a Mormon, I do not believe in God whatsoever, but this story is beautiful, and that woman is beautiful, and her family is beautiful, and this story is incredibly inspirational, and really has made me take a moment to appreciate all of the wonderful things in my life.
Who cares if a person is LDS, Muslim, Buddhist, Catholic or Protestant, Hindu or Amish or Pagan or nothing? The human spirit is amazing, and we are all in this life together, whether we like it or not. Thank you, Steph for a wonderful story of the human spirit. You live it, and you share it. Also, you have absolutely no idea how incredibly gorgeous you are, and I do believe you get prettier every day. There can be no doubting that light in your eyes.
What a sweet in inspiring story of human courage. And the husband--such a solid, caring covenant keeper. He has stayed with this wife through this change. She says she finds a new person. We must all find that new person.
He has just as big of a heart as she does. I am a Mormon myself, raised in the church. The missionaries actually showed my family this video when they came to my house. I've never forgotten it. I love her story. I intend to show my future family her story one day. She makes me look forward to a temple marriage and an eternal family.
I have just finished reading Stephanie's book "Heaven is here". I have read many great and inspiring books in my life but this has to be the all time best. Among other things it makes me want to be a better mother and wife and also I truly feel more gratitude for my body. It was a real page turner and so hard to put down that I have had several late late nights this last week. I think Stephanie and her husband are amazing. I am now also following her blog "the Nie Nie dialogs" and her posts there uplifting and inspiring too.
The missionaries just showed me this testimony last Friday. It touched me deeply and reminded me of my own trials and struggles. A single mother of two boys, disabled from a stroke in 1998 and I just lost my mother last December. Jesus Christ will carry us when we find it too hard to bear on our own. He's there. He's been there before we ever experienced pain or sorrow or struggle. Thank you Stephanie for your message and may God bless you and keep you and your family in all you do. Amen
stephanie is a true inspiration. i love that she loves being a wife and mother! she it truly a hero to me! she is beautiful and i love reading her lovely words on her blog everyday! she shares the message of the gospel in such a beautiful way and is such a great missionary! we love you stephanie!
She has lost something that many women live for, but has gained a sense of what is really important. How blessed she is to have such a beautiful family, and a beautiful faith. Keep going! You and your husband inspire me and many others.
It's incredible that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is capable of changing your feelings of despair and hopelessnes to joy and peace. I am sure that He answers our prayers and helps us change our ways always to better ones.
During Stephanie's recovery I struggled with severe depression. It was a fight to stay alive. When I felt overwhelmed by despair, I thought of Stephanie. I thought, if she could do it, I can too--and I kept fighting. The Lord and Savior Jesus Christ comforted and healed me as he did Stephanie. Stephanie's faith and determination to find beauty in her scarred new life encourages me to do the same.
Absolutely stunning. Your love of God and your faith has surely made you a beacon to those who are seeking a higher purpose for their own lives. Thank you for helping each of us be grateful for all of the blessings that God bestows on us each day.
I've accompanied Stephanie on her journey as an anonymous bystander. I read her blog long before the crash and admired her for who she was then. I remember clearly the moment I heard about the crash. I had called my sister with a question, and when she answered the phone I heard tears in her voice. She told me that her friend, Stephanie Nielsen, had just been in a plane crash with her husband. We cried for Stephanie and her family that day; although we'd never met her, she felt like a friend.
I am so glad to see this video.. Although I am not a mormon, I am a Christian and I believe God DOES have a purpose for all of us. So glad that Stephanie is here, what a blessing she has been to her community, her friends, her family, her church and strangers like me around the globe. As I've followed her story (for the last 2 months) I have found SO much inspiration, as well as messages of great strength. The Nielsons are in my daily prayers. Thank you for sharing your story. From my heart
Ahh, Nie . . . almost 6 1/2 years later, this video is still blessing lives. Thank you for sharing your story with us so we, too, can have beauty for ashes! ♥
As someone who has struggled with mental illness all my life, I relate to this and feel uplifted by her testimony. I have been to mental hospitals on several occasions, and during the first of these outings, I remember weakly lying on the floor for days on end, wondering why God didn't take my trials away from me. Did He care? Well, I know the answer to that now, and I know it well. The answer is "yes"! I am stronger now that I perhaps have ever been, and I feel positively rewarded. I am weak mentally and physically in many ways, but I have the Spirit with me. I have God with me! I know this. And I have my family. So even if I should fail time and time again, I have them to turn back to. I have them to protect and to love. I can learn from them and teach them. Today I had a holy experience. I was prompted to go to a specific place to get certain items that would help my mother feel better. Well, at that place was Hubba Bubba gum for 50 cents and licorice for 9 cents apiece. A crazy deal for sure! I got to not only bless my mother, but the rest of the family, as well. We have delicious licorice, and my mother is able to get better, too!
Bob thanks for sharing your experience. You are strong in the gospel keep it up and you will find great joy. God loves you and is cheering you on and will help you.
her eyes are beautiful. she truly had a wonderful and charmed life. a true shame she threw it all away for fox hill. i hope she finds true peace and happiness. she really deserves it. i loved her blog way back. she had a wonderful, blessed life in AZ.
I think she's beautiful, inside and out. Such a great person and mother who appreciates life and everything. This family is really inspiring, for everyone who's wondering : I am not mormon, but I don't think it matters which religion you have.
Wow, what a great story. I really admire that couple for not being bitter about their disfigurement, and taking an attitude of faith & gratitude instead. It's also very refreshing & reassuring to see that they still love each other, in spite of the scars. We live in such a superficial, glamour-hungry world, and this movie serves as a wonderful reminder that it doesn't need to be that way.
It's true! She gave a talk at UVU and I was just watching it today. She said that a lot of doctors told them it's common for divorce to happen in a case like this. But they most definitely didn't get divorced, so it's pretty cool. :)
This is one of the many amazingly inspirational videos that has helped me welcome the Lord into my life Today I welcomed two young missionaries into my home who gave me a Book of Mormon They were the two kindest young men I had ever met I am in the process of joining the Church and learning the gospel just the few days that I have been actively welcoming Jesus Christ into my life the Lord has made each one special and meaningful. The stress of my life is melting away so that I may move forward.
I am a Christian. I am however not a Mormon, nor do I expect I will be, but your story is so inspiring and transcends denomination and speaks only of a true connection with Christ. You are a very pretty lady and your kids are beautiful and blessed to be able to be raised being taught a love for our God. Your story should inspire all mothers.I wish you happiness.
I’ve been trying to find this for a while, I forgot what it was called. I don’t know I was trying to find it, but when I came across it, I was so glad I found it. The music that goes with this is beautiful and makes her message much more powerful to me. Mindy Gledhill is amazing and I’m glad her song was in this.
This is my absolute favorite mormon message! I don't see how anyone, LDS or otherwise, can dislike this clip, because this message is one of inspiration and hope.
My mom always told me "spend time working on the inside --- less on the outside". She went home to be with God on April 27,2009. I miss her incessantly. There are hard days, but if you can go on, Stephanie, so can I. You are a BEAUTIFUL mother/wife! I admire you so much. Keep on keepin' on !
Wow. God is good. He is real. It's through women like Stephanie Nielson that I know that God lives and loves us. Thank you for this beautiful, inspiring video.
I often think of this couple and their family. It's a hard to leave a comment to this video. They have blessed my life in so many ways. I wish we could all remember the message they are trying to share with us. We are not our bodies...there IS more to life that who we see in the mirror. Christ taught us what life is about. I can only imagine how hard this trial is for them. Everyday. Stephanie, we love you. Thank you for being who you are.
No words can describe what I want to say to you. You are a miracle. From someone who is not religious - you have moved me, in more ways than I could ever describe. I will never forget you.
So moving, and the whole episode makes me realized to how beautiful life can be if given a second chance. I was a fallen Mormon, and this is my second coming...to actually come across Stephanie's story...I tell yous, that scar went to Heaven and back so she could enjoy life to the bitter end. Was just pure and amazing...Thank you
I am new to the LDS church and your story touched my heart I realize that there is a place and a group of people who love you for who you are on the inside and dont judge your outer surface. what a wonderful feeling. thankyou
NieNie-- I love you--I have always enjoyed your blog--but I didn't always believe you could be that grateful--that was before your new life. Every time life seems a little too hard--I link to your blog and see the miracle that is you. You are beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
I know the things said in this video are true. I look upon the trials in my own life and I receive comfort that they are for my well being. I know this because of my faith in Jesus Christ and in the love he and my Heavenly Father have for me.
Thanks for this. I feel weighed down by a broken marriage with the thoughts that this is my life for the rest of my time on earth - darkness, loneliness and a sense of loss for what might have been. This has helped me to realize that life goes on, that it does not matter if I miss out in this life - there is greater good to come and I too can make the world a better place in the meantime. It helps me to have courage to continue, to have hope. Thanks
Craig Dunlop thanks for sharing that is a very important topic. God is going to help us all we need to do is ask. Stay strong and have faith. God loves you
Craig, find peace in routine. Keep it simple. Help who you can and you will find purpose again. Believe it, you have a future on Earth 🌍. You are needed.
god gives us trials to make us stronger my mother is a cancer survivor and every one asked her the exact same question they asked why god was punishing her and our family but it really brought our family closer together and made every one in our family realize how short life is and how much we need to cherish it
"I am not my body." That is such a beautiful statement. That is something I struggle with as I am fighting my own health concerns. Thank you for such an inspiring video.
Whenever I feel like my spirituality needs readjusting, I watch your video. It is a very palpable reminder of Christ's Atonement- how it's not just for people who sin. It's for ALL our aches, pains, empty hearts, and the like. Thank-you Brother and Sister Nielson for following the gospel and being such a light unto the world through your adversities and your laughter as well.
Stephanie, I'm Mormon too. I am a young mom of 3 children. I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis a few years ago. Thank you so much for your message. I share many of your feelings. Keep going on the hard days, knowing that you are not alone. Beyond God, you have fellow saints working out each day, just like you.
I could not hold back the tears as I watched this movie. It made me so grateful for everything that I have. I am so grateful to a Heavenly Father who knows me and loves me and who is always there for me. I am proud to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and it is through this gospel that I am who I am today. Stephanie, thank you for your courage and your strength. Thank you for sharing your story, you are an inspiration to us all.
This was my great cry of gratitude this morning... because I am a 37 year old father of three. This family's experience and attitude inspires me... The presentation is beautiful from the music to the visual imagery to the thoughts of this wonderful woman and her family typed across the screen. I love the this woman's perspective and her words "Motherhood is Beauty" And the scripture at the end is perfect... Truly hope for all!
Thanks for this beautiful and priceless upload on Stephanie Nilson, her husband, family and her spiritual walk and transformation. The Nilsons are truly living witnesses to the Gospel. Stephanie's, faith, courage, strength of character have shown us how she transcended physical barriers and stigma to be the woman that she is today. Blessings to all!
I am a Christian and a Mormon and I believe that we are saved by grace as well, wholly reliant upon our Savior, Jesus Christ, for a remission of our sins and for our hope of Salvation. Thank you for sharing your position.
My father used to say all the time. If a person is very nice and kind. Just anything positive, their beauty comes out. This is what I see in this person.
Thank you, Stephanie, for sharing your story with me. You are a beautiful person, and you are so blessed to have such a beautiful family. Your spirit shines through the scarred skin you now have. My spirit has been touched by your message of love and faith in the plan of salvation. I agree ... motherhood is absolutely divine. Your children are truly blessed to still have you in their lives.
Stephanie Nielson and her husband are truly beautiful people. May God continue to bless them richly! Thank you to them for sharing their story and also the Church for producing this video.
What a strong testimony of the gospel and the love of our Savior Jesus Christ! I am a mother and sometimes I feel overwhelmed, but it's nothing compared to you Stephanie. You are absolutely beautiful inside and out! Thank you for sharing your story, you strengthened me and my testimony.
I know this video happened so long ago, but let me just say that this video is amazing. What an amazing story and I admire your faith Stephanie. I also believe that when you turn to the Savior during times of trouble that he will help you overcome whatever you’re going through. ❤️I also know that God will always provide a way for us to still be happy and okay when life moves in a direction that we don’t want. God will never put us through anything that he knows we cannot handle❤️He knows each of us perfectly and has a great plan in stored for each of us. We just have to trust it. He knows what struggles we will benefit from. I’m grateful to have found this video. ❤️
Stephanie's story is a true example of Amazing Grace. I am so grateful for her courage to share her story, and her faith through her blog, and now through this MormonMessage. Thank you for a beautiful retelling. She and her husband are true modern-day heros.
I just watched this video with my 6 year old daughter, and we were both touched by the profound message. She wanted to write to "the lady" and say "Happy Mother's Day!" Thank you for such an inspiring example of the true meaning of motherhood.
Makes me cry. Two very brave, very strong, very wise people. The Gospel of Jesus Christ helps us understand what is important, and helps us with the hard stuff we all face.
Read the book. I have nothing to complain about now. She had to do therapy and multiple surgeries. That would be so hard to have to learn to walk again. :-(
Our own pain and suffering is always valid, not matter how it may seem in the light of another's life. This is a beautiful story of her courage and gratitude for everything she had, and in that, it's inspiring beyond belief. But please don't let this or another circumstances diminish or devalue your own suffering. All of our tears are valid.
I saw her on 20/20 a few months ago.. I knew she was a member.. I could see it in her countenance.. Beautiful lady and beautiful family. xo Wonderful testimony..
am very sorry for what happend but God saved u because there was a purpose for u to live n bring up ur children give glory to tha lord n always remember to thank him its so touching.God bless u so much
I was at a Seminary Testimony meeting the other day and my friend got up and said "trials are just blessings that we didn't know we needed, and that we never would have gone looking for by ourselves." This video brings that quote into my mind, and you are such a perfect example of it :) Thank you for the wonderful inspiration to keep moving forward no matter what we encounter. :)
"Regarding our earthly journey, the Lord has promised: I will go before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left, and my Spirit shall be in your hearts, and mine angels round about you, to bear you up. [D&C 84:88] That is an everlasting declaration of Gods love and care for us, including-and perhaps especially-in times of trouble." What a wonderful and comforting message. Happy Mother's Day!
How wonderful it is to see that beauty is not only based on appearance. Our bodies grow old and change but who we are on the inside can last eternally. Looking deeper than the skin is hard for some, but who we find on the inside can show us unseen beauty.

"I am not my body." That is powerful, especially when dealing with chronic illness.
I 100% agree! ♥️
You are the reason I have my daughter in my life. Thank you for that.
I have been doing lessons with my local missionaries and I have began to feel the holy spirit. I look forward to waking up everyday and actually feel happy for the first time in my life. I'm also quitting smoking so I may get baptized
I quit smoking. It was hard. I tried many many times!!! It was worth it!!! Welcome to the family!!!
She truly is a beautiful woman made even more beautiful through her trials.
I cannot imagine the strength it takes this woman to live her day-to-day life. I'm not a member of her church, but appreciate the love she has for our God, and the miracles he delivers us. Bless you, Stephanie. Bless you.
I am not a mormon, but Stephanie is an incredible example to all of us who have faith in God. You are so truly beautiful Stephanie.

Your gratitude really touched me Stephanie.
You are beautiful. Truly. And so very loved. Bless you, bless you, bless you.
she is more than beautiful, she's precious!
Even old church videos bless my life! This randomly came up on my feed, but I needed it! So inspiring!
I am not a Mormon but wow! Christian's and Stephanie's story inspires me so much - good food for thought.
Thank you for reminding me to turn to God when I face a trial. It really is the only way to true happiness.
Wonderful, The whole world needs to see this. Hopefully everyone can share this with as many people as possible.

I know the things said in this video are true. I look upon the trials in my own life and I receive comfort that they are for my well being. I know this because of my faith in Jesus Christ and in the love he and my Heavenly Father have for me.
I love being a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints.
Thank you. You are a beautiful woman!
God understand all that we go through will smile beautifully one day carry on with faith
You are beautiful, Sister Nielson! You really, really are. Your message you shared is amazing, and so inspiring. Thank you for being you.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful video. You are such an inspiration to me❤️
Stephanie Nielson just had a new little baby girl! Congratulations Nielson Family! God bless your family!
I have also been searching for many years, and think I've found my Salvation in Jesus Christ. Amen
Bless you Stephanie. A living example of the love and strength form the gospel.
And now I am in tears. Thank you.
Me too!
This was my great cry of gratitude this morning... because I am a 37 year old father of three.
This family's experience and attitude inspires me...
The presentation is beautiful from the music to the visual imagery to the thoughts of this wonderful woman and her family typed across the screen.
I love the this woman's perspective and her words "Motherhood is Beauty"
And the scripture at the end is perfect...
What an amazing family!!!
Wow. I watched this a million times
If I could talk to her personally, I would tell her she is beautiful.
Daniel Miller I agree, Stephanie is beautiful. So, is her soul
I agree!
💜💎💜🌉
My father used to say all the time. If a person is very nice and kind. Just anything positive, their beauty comes out. This is what I see in this person.
What a beautiful and inspiring story of love and gratitude. I think EVERYONe can apply this to their own life.
You are such an example. You are a beautiful daughter of god! Thank you for sharing your beautiful story
Stephanie, I am proud to be called your brother in the Gospel. Thank you for your inspiration.
nothing in my life seems hard after watching this. what a beautiful story
You are absolutely BEAUTIFUL in EVERY way!!!!!! LOVE to you!!!!
She's a great writer.
I have nothing to complain about after watching that.
Her husband is real man
Read the book.
All of our tears are valid.
if you are not touched by this...you are not alive!!! she is amazing, beautiful, and an inspiration!
God change my life
I saw her on 20/20 a few months ago.. I knew she was a member.. I could see it in her countenance.. Beautiful lady and beautiful family. xo Wonderful testimony..

Thank you for reminding me of what is most important in life.
wow such courage and strong faith amazing with God in our lives there so much we can overcome
"Regarding our earthly journey, the Lord has promised:
I will go before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left, and my Spirit shall be in your hearts, and mine angels round about you, to bear you up. [D&C 84:88]
That is an everlasting declaration of Gods love and care for us, including-and perhaps especially-in times of trouble." What a wonderful and comforting message. Happy Mother's Day!
How wonderful it is to see that beauty is not only based on appearance. Our bodies grow old and change but who we are on the inside can last eternally. Looking deeper than the skin is hard for some, but who we find on the inside can show us unseen beauty.
