- My fourth video from the Kaleidoscope EP is the title track! And i am excited that it is also the official theme song of the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras 2016!
I loved coming up with the concept for this video. I wanted to tell a story about a different facet of the Kaleidoscope. I feel that gender and sexuality are fluid and so often we get stuck in the rigidity. Who knows when someone outside your usual target zone might come also and sweep you off your feet?
I read this quote from Lily Edelstein the other day it is seemed fitting "At the heart of Queer culture is revolution. The truest rebellion against a world built on categories, labels and binaries is coming from the emergence of identities that refuse to conform."

Drag queens' videos are usually filled with half naked muscle men, & that's not necessarily a bad thing considering that a big part of their audience is attracted to that kind of material, & I can't blame them for using it. But it's very refreshing to see more of a toned down video, & especially about lesbian love, this is both cute & great
Yes, but is it lesbian love? I mean Shane Jenek is a guy, who is I guess pan sexual. When I found that out I got so excited. As if I could ever get with Shane/Courtney anyway. Plus I am happily married, but he is definitely on the top three of my "list". Johnny Depp and Billy Idol are the other two on that list. I find him sexy no matter if he is Shane or Courtney.

+DirkAustin it's just the distinction really. Some Bi people (or just any non-pan) would say that they could never be attracted to a trans person or someone who is non binary. They're attracted to girls who are girls and boys who are boys.
Pansexual is just a distinction to express that you're open to all and any gender. It's all up to personal distinction though. While I'm pan I also identify or am happy to be called gay/queer/bi because I identify with it. As long as it's not used as a derogatory (e.g. Queer as negative or Gay erasing the fact I'm bi/pan)
Sexuality and gender, as Kaleidoscope says, encompasses a great many things and however one wishes to express their identify is there personal choice. There's so much on the spectrum that why box yourself in to one little niché

Courtney Act you are a divine human being. It's taken watching my kid grow up to 16 years old identifying as trans since being a toddler to help me realise I'm genderfluid too, just like them. I knew I didn't want to be a man but I didn't want to be a woman, at least not all day every day.
Realising that I'm not just Bi (as in attracted to individual people regardless of gender identity) but also that my gender isn't simply one fixed point on a spectrum is mind-blowing. Finding out I had an Intersex condition too both complicated and simplified things in my head.
Thankfully my husband is also Bi and equally comfortable in the point of the gender spectrum they identify as we haven't had any huge hiccups when it comes to being married. But as usual you get the usual nonsense about how we must desperately need to be in multiple relationships because of how we identify.
Sure I'm poly but since my husband isn't and would be devastated if I had a relationship outside of our marriage, I'm perfectly comfortable and satisfied with being monogamous. That would be like insisting I must Domme him, because I've been a pro-Domme for two decades. Relationships are far more complex and fluud than many people make them out to be.
I think you are a beautiful person Courtney, quite sincerely and I hope we get to meet if you manage to tour Scotland with the AAA Girls or as your own act. You'd adore the Edinburgh Fringe and the Fringe would adore you right back. Come and play!

That video brings me to tears. It's just beautiful. My whole life, 40-something years, has been like looking through a kaleidoscope. I remember being a kid and staring through that thing in amazement, never being able to make sense of it. My wife of 16 years is trying to push me away (we've been separated for 7 months), she knows how much I have been torn between being her husband and loving her, and not being myself and denying who I am.
