  • Within a circuit, charge flows from a higher to lower electric potential. When you divide the total electric potential energy by the electric charge, we get a ratio called the electric potential. Electric potential plays a similar role as water pressure. A difference in electric potential can result in the flow of charge, such as the charge carried by electrons. In this video, we discuss the flow of charge and electric current in more detail.
