I have a kickstart on my 19 300. I’ve used it. I like it. One time getting stuck without it is too many. I’m glad you guys have not needed it, hate to wish being stuck way out with dead battery and no alternative on anyone.
I hope u tested the fan more. After having to "force it" to turn on. I've had enough temperature sensors, even new ones, for hvac equipment be just messed up and not read right, but when I make them extra hot or cold, they seem to work. They're just out of the normal range they're supposed to be in.
beta gear boxes are notchy, i have several betas 2t and 4t and they've all been notchy. looking forward to your response if the oil helped or not, I'm guessing it wont, I've tried belray, klotz, rekluse and motul gear oil, all with the same result. love your content Morgan, KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK.
Now its better than new 👌 practical and super logical up grads in my limited knowledge. I usually really like blue but that beta blue isnt working for some reason, anyway kool upgrades and look forward to the next. 👍
Yes. That thermostat is just a fail point that can stick and cause over heating. It’s not necessary unless you are riding in really cold conditions so most of us remove it.
Nice work! Kick start, new start stop switches, pretty soon it will be just like my '18 ktm. 😂 Actually trying to think if I've ever used my kick start...maybe once?? If you're gonna race that gnarly stuff you just may need it and it would suck not to have it.
It will be interesting to see if you actually use it. I was a big kick start proponent. But having a 2017 TE 300 and a 2022 Sherco SE 300. i can honestly say. I have not used a kick start in years. My old Husaberg with the old style e start yes it is needed as it is always used. 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Having four current bikes, two have kick starters and all of them have electric start...I've never used the kick starters. Having said that, I totally get why Morgan is putting one on that bike, it is a great set up.
my battery was dead in the middle of the trail in a deep valley, ktm tpi - managed to kickstart it and safely get out of the situation, otherwise, it would have required a lot of trouble, new ktms doesn't have such an option unfortunately. Also once loose eclectic connection for the battery, for some reason there was only one way to kick start it. I would say say that new bikes doesn't need it, but when it gets older - it is essential
Did you grind from the knuckle or the kick arm? Did you take the arm from the knuckle and make sure extra grease in pin area for later, or not worth doing?
Hey Morgan by chance what's ur sprocket set up on old maria??? 15 and?? Does it make the taller in the last gear?? Was wondering for road use, wanted a higher freeway speed, and thoughts??
@@highlandcycles were you noticing it getting hot previously my old 22 model runs a lot cooler than my 24 model and iv seen many people putting thermostat by pass kits on them
@@highlandcycles Thanks, Morgan! I've been using VP 94 non-ethanol at 3,000-5,000 feet elevation mixed with a bit of 91 pump gas at times. I can get 87 non-ethanol when I ride in Carson City and that area is 5,000 feet. I was wondering if I could get by with just running 87 at that elevation. My 250X and 125X are running Apex heads that can run on pump gas.
After the year 2020+, the two strokes have a plug that will provide 12+ while the bike runs but not while stopped. Its the only free plug in the nest of wires under the tank in the frame nook. It's a white two wire plug with red and black wires. Not content to yell from the sidelines I just tested my '22 300rr re and the plug provides power while the bike is running. I'm revisiting the fan issue after two DNFs in my last two enduros. One was a broken radiator and the other was a slimy and super wet race in the Arkansas mountains.
Search for the installation pdf on the beta USA site for the Part #AB-10274-2T. It's on the Accessory Instructions page of the Beta USA site. UA-cam seems to frown on direct links. Good luck.
Morgan, I watched your video on the 2023 XC bump start, do you know if that is the same case on the 2024 XCW (can you bump start without a battery)? For everyone else, here is the video Morgan shared on the 2023 XC bump start a while back ua-cam.com/video/Bn6P5frbiPo/v-deo.htmlsi=zCBCi5jSTne_lGrb
I didn't use the kit gasket and was redoing the dang thang after a test ride. My original gasket looked fine but sprang a leak after installing the kicker. Redo with kit gasket and alls well that ends well...
Definitely like the fact that you can add a kick starter to that bike that's awesome.
Kit starters are goooood!!!
I enjoy setting up a new bike.

you can buy jump packs that are size of a pack of cigs now.. no need for kick start

I will. I’m not too worried about it because it’s just a fan. It the bike boils it won’t be the end of the world

a very good video thank you sir, a question; I observe that there are many who remove the thermostat and put silicone tubes, ... greetings.

You are right 4CS forks are easy to rebuild. The only specialty tool you need is the cap socket
Do you like the beta more than your ktm300?

Do you do 85 or 80 wt gear saver?
In the winter in the pnw i used 75 and 80 in the summer. What are your thoughts?
80 all the time

For sure. I’ve had to use one about once a year and I’ve always been super happy it was there.

From knuckle and no I didn’t. I’ve never had a problem with thst
Looking good... What's the final weight???
Gotta weigh it
I hit subscribe as soon as you said you don't want to do anything Harley Davidson does.
YES!!!
Any plans on going with a bigger tank?
Not right now. Would like it if Acerbis would make one.

15/47 and it’s good for about 65 easy cruising. Will run 92 wide open
U the man!!!! Thank u sir!!! I'll have to change chains..
Still waiting on that xr650r video
Less of the hate on Harley Davidson Morgan lol😁
😂🤣 I admitted I was wrong.

Did you have to remove the original thermostat from the bike ? Before installing the fan kit ?
Didn’t have to

They are ok for that application
What rear caliper guards fit on these bikes ?
Bulletproof Designs
What octane are you running in the Beta?
88 non ethanol. I live at 5500 ft

I might regret this comment but shercos come standard with a fan 😅
🤣😂
I really wanted a sherco, but I couldn't justify the couple grand more for it than the beta. Next time, though, I think I'll try one out.
Beta Betty? She needs a name Morgan! She helps to get you across the Rubble 😂😂
I already named her. Cecilia
Where can I get this radiator fan ?

I dont think you need the thermos swiths and wiring, After 2022 the fan is controlled by the ecu, maybe only a 4T think, not sure >??
Not on the 2T
