I used this tutorial this afternoon and OMG it was so perfect. I made such a pretty dress thanks to you. Everytime I use a pattern from a store I have so many touch up to do, this time it fits perfectly ! I will definitly look at other tutos on your channel. Sorry for my bad english and greetings from Paris, France ! 🌟👌👍
You make sewing look so easy..I've been search and searching for the perfect linen summer shift style dress.watching you made me watch all your videos and make one myself..in progress now..I wouldn't mind you making one.you are amazing!!!
@@JessDangDIY Drafting my pattern, and I hope it's ok if I ask this question! When measuring the bust length for the first curved line, do you measure in the middle between the bra cups, or over the bra cups? Hope this makes sense and thank you for your time!
I love your DIYs! I have made a couple of tops and a dress through your vlogs. Can I suggest though that you put the fabric measurements in the description box below the vid for easy and quick reference? Thanks! Looking forward for more videos ♥️
Your talent and beautiful dress put smile on my face. Thank you for sharing. You are beautiful. Please make a video of how to make a silk slip dress cut in diagonal.
Are you able to write down all the measurements again?? thank you this dress looks beautiful btw, if i was to make a top would it be pretty much the same but length just shorter.?
I'll try to write it down. But it just for my size. So I prefer you go along with my instruction for each step to adjust for your body size. Yes, if you make the top only, it'll be just shorter. And a tip from my opinion for the top, make it a little bigger. So you will wear it easily and it also looks more elegant
Love it 😍, very simple, classy and elegant and it complements your figure and suits you beautifully. Thanks for the vid, brilliant as always, so love your vids, ideas, instructions and sense of style! ❤️ However that neckline and straps kinda beg for a braless performance, so it suits a cocktail more than dancing wedding party more i think, especially if you like to jump like I do 😅😉. Hope you will have or had a great time at the wedding! Hugs!
beautiful dress beautiful tutorial but the volume was low on the video. I have one suggestion, to use a darker tailor's Chalk for beginners like me. Good job! I look forward to the next video. Thank you
So I notice that your darts are always triangle shape. Why do you recommend triangle shape vs. some sort of a curve? I’m just curious what the pros and cons of triangle darts are
cutting on bias will help make the fabric drape better. if it is cut straight, the cowl neck portion will just kind of flop to one side of other. But it will look much better and more flowy on bias
Hi Jess! I love this dress so much! if I were to make the neckline higher, what should I do? can I decrease the neckline measurements in order to do so? Thanks for making these resources free for us, I really appreciate it.
Michy Tan I have little experience with sewing cowl necks but based on what I can imagine, I think either shorten the length of the additional folded fabric (20 cm) meant for the cowl, it’ll help with the weight of pulling the neckline down. Or if you like the way it folds, probably elongate the length before the bust measurement (the video uses 12 cm for that) which naturally will create a longer piece of fabric for the chest.
Why do I need +10cm for the horizontal measurement(1/2hips + 10cm)? I was wondering if I can make that less (ex. 5cm) cuz I'm working with a pre-cut fabric from another project and I don't have enough material :( Btw love ur video so much, it is so clear and comprehensive, keep up the good work 👍🏻👍🏻
Because you will have a have a little space for your dress when wearing. And it won't be too tight to your body. Beside that, 10 cm is included 1cm of the seam allowance already. That mean total seam allowance will be 4cm

I'll check the English subtitle. So you can turn on to follow my instruction easily

Why do you recommend triangle shape vs. some sort of a curve?

Gorgeous! Just curious if you have a free pattern of it or a similar dress pattern?
Sorry I don't have. Because I drew straight on my fabric
I love it, thank you!! New subscriber ❤️

Congratulations 🎆
LOVE IT! Is came out amazing and this is such a pretty color!
Loved the video ♥️. Quick question, would there be much difference if this was cut on bias?
Sorry I don't really get what you mean
cutting on bias will help make the fabric drape better. if it is cut straight, the cowl neck portion will just kind of flop to one side of other. But it will look much better and more flowy on bias
I need to learn this, this is so beautiful 😍
Ayushi Parekh yeah 🥰

she said around that part “...moving to the back of the dress i am drawing a rectangle with 58 cm width...”
