Figured it out shortly after, it turned out to be a good-sized rock that got lodged between the rotor and the dust shield and held on for dear life. If I remember correctly, I think I was able to remove it without having to remove the rotor itself. Definitely scared the crap out of me since I was suspecting a driveline or subframe issue based on the sound
