I remember this mine being worked by Barton and Banks in the 40s, I used to go in when I was 5 years old, I also used to cut candles in half and take them down to the wishing well in Cumberland Cavern for the tourist to light their way back to daylight, outside was a woooden cabin where you could buy soft drinks etc.

That's great Ike - that entrance collapsed a few years ago, but you can still get to the wishing well via a climb up from Wapping.
