    Really happy for Bryce especially after everything he’s been through . Getting hit in the face last year , came back won mvp . Getting his thumb broken by Blake snell and everyone in Philly believed he would get his revenge and smash the padres and that’s exact what happened. there’s not many I would want up at bat in the biggest moments than Bryce Harper . Im so happy for him and the Phillies. I grew up as a Phillies' fan during the ealy80's, watching, Mike Schmidt, Tug McGraw , Steve Carlton, etc. Something I noticed, is that Bryce has learned to control his temper. In '80 Schmidt shined in the playoffs and lead them to a WS title.

      The only comparison I can think of is Manny when he was traded to the Dodgers in '08 (who, ironically, we beat in the NLCS). Every single time he stepped to bat, you KNEW he was gonna make something happen if you gave him literally anything to hit. Same thing with Bryce right now. I'd be shocked if the Astros didn't pitch around him. It's gonna be so important for the top of the order to get on base.

    Do you remember when there was a poll running around saying Harper was the most overrated player in baseball? Ever since high school, this guy was touted as the next big thing. Literally no other player in baseball had as much spotlight as him at such an early age. With all the pressure and expectation, its easy to point out the seasons he has disappointed, but he's a 2x MVP, now NLCS MVP playing in the world series. Not to mention, this dude just has the knack for coming through in big moments.

Typically not a fan of national announcers, but Smoltz's insight was amazing (was such a cerebral pitcher - even though we all loathed the Braves, haha), and Joe Davis was very good as well. Thank God we only had to deal with A-Rod and Michael Kay for 2 games in the first round.

      Last year Houston didn't have any pitching to support them. This year, they are fully loaded top to bottom and it's a huge difference.

    • @mypud4068
      @mypud4068 2 роки тому

      The padres by any measurement had a good and complete staff as well, if the Phillies bats stay hot honestly the pitching becomes sort of a non factor if they are hitting everyone

    • @viveknamikaze761
      @viveknamikaze761 2 роки тому

      @@mypud4068 All the 4 pitchers in Houston are better than all the pitchers in Padres. The bullpen is on a whole other level so I don't think you can compare them.
      Also great pitching will always crush great hitting and that's how baseball has always been.
