The Glory of His Presence
Words: Rev. Oswald J. Smith
Music: B.D. Ackley
I have walked alone with Jesus
In a fellowship divine,
Nevermore can earth allure me,
I am His and He is mine.
Chorus
I have seen Him, I have known Him,
For He deigns to walk with me;
And the glory of His presence
Will be mine eternally,
O the glory of His presence,
O the beauty of His face.
I am His and His forever,
He has won me by His grace.
On the mountain I have seen Him,
Christ my Comforter and Friend;
And the glory of that vision
Will be with me to the end.
Chorus
In my failure, sin and sorrow,
Broken-hearted crushed and torn,
I have felt His presence near me,
He has all my burdens borne,
Chorus
In the darkness, in the shadow,
With the Saviour I have trod,
Sweet indeed have been the lessons
Since I’ve walked alone with God.
Chorus
This was a solo a lady used to sing at my church First Church of The Nazarene in Saginaw Michigan! It made a very strong impession on me as a young man in the church!
My mother's favorite!!! ❤ When she transitioned 10 years ago, our family gathered at her bedside sang it to her believing it was the last earthly sound she heard! Beautiful words!!!
My Mother , who is 100 years old, has been looking for this song forever. She loves this arrangement. Would you be willing to tell us where we could purchase the sheet music. I am her daughter, and she wants me to have it for her celebration of life one day. I noticed it said Nashville Church of the Nazarene. My father was a District Superintendent for the Wesleyan Church. Anyway, if you can provide me with any info I would be most grateful.
