Why not paint on wafer paper? Handpainted cake designs are always trendy and modern, so in this tutorial, you will learn how to create elegant Magnolia (and Rose) flowers for cake decorating using wafer paper and petal dusts. No painting skills are required! I'll teach you step-by-step how to transfer the image on wafer paper, outline, and color a beautiful flower design.
Also, I'm showing you how to apply wafer paper to a fondant-covered cake and how to make it stay in place.

I’m from Philippines and when my choco ganache taken out from fridge it’s sweat a lot it’s very hot here in my country you think the painting will not smudge or smear and create melting the painting
This is absolutely beautiful. My question is will the portion of the flower that is not actually attached curl and disfigure?

I actually have done a flat face fondant cake topper, which came out not bad. Maybe wafer paper is better!
That's what inspired this design. I'm bad at modeling, so used to cut and paint on flat fondant or gumpaste.

Hello Anna, can we use coconut oil to paint on wafer paper, or we need to use the glycerin, i try the dust they looks so pretty but i have a project of little girl images thats need more vibrant colors, please help me 🙏
I would suggest to use melted coconut butter (not oil) because it is stable at room temp.

Yes! You can see that for this method I used airbrush color and gels are even thicker.
Just wondering if you can help me. I need to hand print a cartoon character on wafer paper. Paw Patrol, Marshall. Never tried it before.
You could use the same method! If you need your colors to be bolder - try mixing petal dusts with alcohol or oil.
