It just takes some perseverance, determination and discipline Mike isn’t afraid of failing or being uncomfortable I think that’s why he can learn the way he does it’s inspiring to watch
Art is something you get better at with practice. When I first started, I was drawing 24/7 because I didn’t have anything else to do. I even drew during class. I quickly became good, but a year later, I had a National exam, and stopped drawing, because I didn’t have the time, and I lost interest for it quickly not being able to draw. This year when there was a lockdown, I was at home, but instead of practicing my art like I should, I play games instead. My parents also think art is a waste of time. This video really makes me motivated to draw again.
I didn’t see anyone sharing the timelines and things he actually did so here you go ✨ 🍄THINGS TO PRACTICE🍄: 1. 0:47 | Drawing shapes 2. 1:47 | Proportions 3. 2:34 | Perspective 4. 4:00 | Shadows
He ignored the elephant in the room which is he HAS talent and perfected it by practicing. No amount of practice can turn you into a Mozart or Mariah Carey if you are tone deaf
@@swordless2648 sometimes the talent is too great to realistically reach even with countless hours of practice over one's entire life, examples would be mozart as mentioned before no matter how hard you practice, you're just not beating mozart
@@tjallevanderwal8031 shouldn't he know what it was for? He watched tutorials and videos on how to draw, or at least experimented a little witb other tools

me who has been trying to learn perspective for almost a month: GOD THIS IS SO HARD Mike: *7 days go brrrr* edit: ahh yes after like 5 months... FINALLY FINALLY learnt how to fookin do it
Me doing art for about a year now thinking I’m quite good Then me seeing this and realising I’m actually terrible 🥲 It’s disheartening but I’m proud of him he’s very talented
Well, I’d advice to think in a different prospective. “What did he do that’s different from my approach?” “Maybe I should do it in a systematic method like him?” “In that year did I really draw that much?”. It’s about the actual time spent holding the pen and drawing with it, not watching tutorials (you still need them to make the best efficient way of learning).
You should do studies, and NEVER draw from imagination until you understand the fundamentals, until then draw from reference and understand why something is the way it is Observation is one of if not THE MOST important factor in drawing better faster.
I actually have a very hard time believing he made all this progress in such a short amount of time, especially the first stages. You don't learn perspective in 2 hours lol. The first drawings he showed may not actually be his true starting level. Or maybe he's extremely innately talented.
I had the same issue, but what helped me a lot was buying a small sketchbook and only ever drawing with black fineliners/pens. Stop using a pencil. When you can no longer erase lines you'll start iterative drawing (drawing the same thing 20 times in a row, quick and dirty) and you won't care about mistakes so much. Maybe it'll help you out too :)
you learned in 7 days what took me 10 years to learn kudos to you man truly inspiring the amount of determination and patience you have is something i just don't possess lmao

*STORY*
A 24 year old boy seeing out from the train’s window shouted…
“Dad, look the trees are going behind!”
Dad smiled and a young couple sitting nearby, looked at the 24 year old’s childish behavior with pity, suddenly he again exclaimed…
“Dad, look the clouds are running with us!”
The couple couldn’t resist and said to the old man…
“Why don’t you take your son to a good doctor?”The old man smiled and said…
“I did and we are just coming from the hospital, my son was blind from birth, he just got his eyes today".

I used to watch you constantly. I thought that UA-camrs were making up UA-cam’s unsubscribing glitch, but I was actually unsubscribed lol.

Since I've been drawing for years I'm confident to say:

Me doing art for about a year now thinking I’m quite good
Then me seeing this and realising I’m actually terrible 🥲
It’s disheartening but I’m proud of him he’s very talented
Me toooooo
Well, I’d advice to think in a different prospective.
“What did he do that’s different from my approach?”
“Maybe I should do it in a systematic method like him?”
“In that year did I really draw that much?”.
It’s about the actual time spent holding the pen and drawing with it, not watching tutorials (you still need them to make the best efficient way of learning).
@@amathos1130 ok thank you for the advice I will try it out
He's not talented
He practiced :D
You should do studies, and NEVER draw from imagination until you understand the fundamentals, until then draw from reference and understand why something is the way it is
Observation is one of if not THE MOST important factor in drawing better faster.

I actually have a very hard time believing he made all this progress in such a short amount of time, especially the first stages. You don't learn perspective in 2 hours lol.
The first drawings he showed may not actually be his true starting level.
Or maybe he's extremely innately talented.

Love this! I’m on the same journey! I used to love to draw, but perfectionistic tenancies got in the way…trying to do it imperfectly now.
I love pen drawing, even tho mistakes are jarring, you can make something up to hide it lol
