One thing that was shown in this episode but was not discussed is the fact that in "Detroit style" pizza, the sauce is placed on top of all the other ingredients, hence accounting for the "crispy crunch" of the pizza's crust. In "traditional" pizzas, the sauce is usually placed directly on top of the crust, and can therefore result in a certain sogginess.
As someone who grew up in the countryside just outside of Theresa, so happy to see my hometown cheese makers in the spotlight. Widmer's cheese is amazing
I was born & raised in Wisc., but have been living in California for the last 40+ years. Every January I order either one or two 5# bricks of the aged cheese. I share with other Wisconsin transplants and others out here, gotta educate the world about brick cheese. Thanks for the great show.
As someone who has grown up and lived in Wisconsin my whole life ❤️ Widmer's Brick! A favorite camping/road trip snack. But to see this on pizza takes it to a whole different level that I want to try sooner than later! Thanks Wisconsin Foodie for another great episode and season!

Unfortunately some things need to be cut out for time, this was one of them.
