@@morganh220 Denzel's lines to that kid in the 2nd Equalizer were POWERFUL. It's all the stuff a father would say to their kid long before it ever got to that point. He said so much in just a few words: "5lbs of pressure that's all it takes."
The controversy is because the CEO of a gaming company said "I love your (Asmongold's) videos". To those gaming "journalists", that basically is the same thing as saying, "I love Hitler".
Okay I get the point but this is factually untrue. I just looked. They gave space marine 2 an 8 out of 10. All for going against IGN but this is a lie.
I still remember they gave Alien Isolation a 4/10 back in the day, effectively cancelling any hopes for a sequel. Seeing them get what they f*cking deserve makes me smile.
There is no rights (and female custodes) in the imperium of man, only duty. And if CEO is older than 15 duty of becoming an angel of death is not on him.
They absolutely are, the past 12 months or so have been a real tipping point. With The Marvels flopping at the end of 2023, then Stellar Blade becoming a success thanks to its unashamedly sexy lead, followed by major successes in Wukong and Space Marine which are just back to basics fun. Meanwhile, games where 'the message' was the focus are failing to a massive degree. SBI and consequently SBI detected showing what people want, and now in the wake of disasters like Concord, we're hearing that not even Alan Wake 2 made a profit - a game that was way too ambitious for its expected audience. Ubisoft's also got a failure on their hands with Star Wars Outlaw, and likely another with Assassin's Creed Shadows because they decided that Japanese people weren't diverse enough ("basically white", to use their terms), and the whole game seems like an off-putting virtue signal, while also annoying the Japanese market by thinking they know their culture better. This will be looked back on as the year of course correction for the gaming industry.
@@midastheunwise2423 The pendulum is finally coming back down, the woketoids are having a meltdown. if trump wins, I'll be drinking liberal tears by the gallon.
I hope the CEO is seeing this video. Direct to consumer is the way to go, IGN and co dont make games and we dont buy games based on what IGN says. We buy games when we watch real people play it and real people talking about it. People who work at game publications are not to be trusted, their opinions are based on what their bosses say they can have and so nothing is real about what they say or how they portray themselves online.
I think the pendulum is starting to swing back just a tiny bit. But to move gaming away from the trash fire it is is going to be very painful, they've allowed the rot to spread and fester too long. If they start purging the activists the lawsuits will start flying, because most of them are women and/or minorities and they will file discrimination lawsuits. They would rather burn it all down than lose.

"Something Happens" -> "Its misrepresented in media" -> "False narrative is created" is correct. Except the last step usually is "people accept the gobslop of that false narrative, and if they question it, they're harassed and branded as conspiracy theorists or hateful."
The one creating the controversy is the games media itself, they'll quote people on twitter with 0 likes and replies who are upset about something and call it a "massive online backlash"
It's especially funny when they use that quote twitter format which shows in their actual online article that the original post really has 7 likes or such.
It's the fact that the CEO gives off "zero fucks" vibes from the golden era of X360 gamers is truly what makes this special. Suggestion: make a video game journalism site that reviews the ratings from other reviewers!
@@oniplus4545 Yup. Everyone just needs to look at Baldur's Gate 3 for an example of a failure when you add tons of gender options and woke content. That game bombed HARD due to it. Hope the wokies actually woke up after that and realized they're wrong. There's a reason Asmon hasn't played it.
No, he really shouldn't. You simply don't engage at all. Any kind of response is a level of credence not warranted. You simply do not engage, at all, even a little bit.
He did better. Saying that "whoever commented that is sharp" is a great way to imply that he agrees with what's written, without allowing media to twist his words into their narrative. It's like Clark Kent saying that Super man sure looks good.
"No comment" from Saber is actually the best move possible because even if your comment is simply to say "red", game journalists will twist your comment and make it look like you said "blue". But you can't twist a "no comment" situation, you can't create a semi-viable narrative out of literally nothing, the same way that dividing or multiplying by zero will always result in a final result of zero.
What these companies need to start doing is ignoring requests for comment by the irrelevant legacy media and just respond to individuals. Imagine how salty IGN would be if they asked something, then Asmon asked the same thing but he got the response lol.
I think it's more what that dude said on twitter said a while back, if you say "We like red" then these 'journalists' will respond "So you hate the color blue?" and then lambast you for getting 'irrationally angry and hateful' when you point out that no, you did not in fact say you hate blue. But yes, you're right, not engaging gives them no further fuel. They might get one more article out, like in this case, saying "They refuse to respond" which translates to "they did not rise to our bait" but notice even on this one they once again put 'controversial' in there to try to bait a response. They know, that like Asmon here and readers everywhere, 90% of people will say "that wasn't controversial", they just hope one of those people is the company itself so they can continue to milk this literally entirely fabricated narrative. Like Wukong's devs not responding, it must enrage them to not be involved in any part of the loop of Wukong's success; their inability to profit off of its popularity... but again that's entirely their fault for not replying "we like red too". They could be pumping articles about how fun the game is and getting ten times the engagement numbers (and ten times the ad revenue), but instead like all journos these days, they've elected the way of woke.
It's not just PC Gamer and IGN; pretty much all so-called 'game journalists' are a joke. For example, 17 media outlets counted towards Metacritic gave Wukong scores in the 60s and 70s. If you look up their ratings for other games and average them, they gave Wukong a 69, a game that sold over 18 million copies in its first two weeks, and has 95% positive rating by over 800K ppl in Steam. In contrast, Concord, a game that died in 12 days, sold basically 0 copy after the refund, received an average of 67.4-an 'astonishing' 1.6-point difference between these two games. These same media outlets gave Star Wars Outlaws an average of 75.5, Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden 77.8, and Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn 71.5.they seriously think these games are better than Wukong? What a joke.
Reading averages makes even less sense than reading the reviews themselves. It's the publishers' problem they decided to regard the metacritic so highly. The average is only good to evaluate thousands of user reviews, not 20 reviews from outlets that only use numbers from 6 to 8.
'game journalists' is such a stretch. They are, at best, critics. They just keep calling themselves "journalists" to try to impose some respect on new viewers. They have no consistent or objective methods of analysis. Most of the "editors" on IGN release like 5-10 articles per day about games, series, movies, etc. How can someone have time to watch all of that stuff and still deliver quality work? They can't, IGN (and other websites) just pick what gives more clicks; and those are the controversial stuff that provide zero value to the gaming industry, but deliver some good ad money to them
Game journalists nowadays have like no talent. Any rando on the internet could become a game journalist. Blows my mind that it is even a profession at this stage.
Because games journalists all wanted to work for the New York Times, etc. didn’t get the job and could only find work in game journalism, but still want to be New York Times reporters, and that’s how they act.
It'll self correct eventually. Badduns die off and the new breed move in. Then give it a few years and there'll be some brand new controversial thing, rinse, repeat.

"not enough if you placate them" this is literally the reason why these companies, from random nobody indie devs, to massive Hollywood studios that have existed for a century, are floundering. The tides are turning. 7 years ago developers wouldn't have dared to make these comments in fear of getting cancelled.
Tides have already turned. Game journalists just like to pretend they haven't.

The one creating the controversy is the games media itself, they'll quote people on twitter with 0 likes and replies who are upset about something and call it a "massive online backlash"
Yea cos clickbait and ragebait is the only way for them to get views. You wouldn't hear of them otherwise
It's especially funny when they use that quote twitter format which shows in their actual online article that the original post really has 7 likes or such.
Sometimes they make fake accounts just to justify their narrative.

Not wanting to be controversial is now highly controversial 😂
They want to have ammo to attack the devs, and the devs simply ignore their bait
The pièce de résistance is the CEO mentioning that the commenter is pretty sharp.
Agree with everything except the claim that dividing by zero will result in zero. There's no such thing as division by zero. Yeah, I'm that guy ;)

Saber Interactive doesn’t negotiate with terrorists
Great point! They are all on the same pond
