Isn’t the “Little Western” story based on how some British rail steamers had succeeded in escaping from scrap to heritage railways (besides Railway magazine photos, and the South Devon railway)?
Steam Engines were withdrawn earlier than British Railways and people in America are more in favor of cars. In other words George The Steamroller would call it paradise.

Isn’t the “Little Western” story based on how some British rail steamers had succeeded in escaping from scrap to heritage railways (besides Railway magazine photos, and the South Devon railway)?
I hope several steamers, in anywhere like USA and British rail, escaped to safety.
