Bonjour German AlevxandroSounds from different V' periods are used. But beyond the sounds, there is a desire to come closer to "V'style" in each period (80's, 90's, 20xx). V stills uses today synth sounds from the 90's and here your classical samples seem to be more recent (may be the master should update its orchestral sounds :) ). Congratulations. Do you prefer the V of today (digital sounds of piano, strings, oboe, choir, brass ...) or the V of the analog era (Rhodes, CS-80, VP330, CP-80, Emulator 1 ...)?

Hi Mat G, first of all thanks for watching and thanks for your kind words.Regarding your question, if you take a look at my channel you are going to find that i have covers from all of his periods, im kind of obsessed with all his music.I love his 67-77 pre-Cs80 period filled with memorable melodies, from Sex Power, Fais que ton rêve soit plus long que la nuit ,Apocalypse des Animaux, Ignacio, Fete Sauvage to Heaven and Hell,i absolutely love all of those works released and unreleased from that period, then from the Cs80 Golden Nemo years, what can i say? everything from that period is a masterpiece.I specially love Opera Sauvage, China, Mask, Soil Festivities, See you Later, Antartica, Private Collection with JA, Friends of Mr. cairo, The Bounty, well everything from that period, if i had to choose a favorite period maybe this would be the one, but not by much. After all those masterpieces in the 90´s he gave us a more fresh relaxed approach with The City, Direct, Oceanic, Voices and also more masterpieces like 1492, El Greco, Mythodea,Alexander.Im a huge fan of those works too.Regarding wich setup like the most from V, i honestly dont have an answear, i love his classic combo VP330-CP80/Rhodes-Cs80, but i also like his pre- Cs80 sound palette Arp , Clavinet,Processed B3,etc and dont know why but i also like his Digital sound of his 90´s to most recent works, the thing is i think that it doesnt matter wich setup he uses because the beauty of his music is in the way he plays not the instruments he uses, thats why he can create astonishing music with anything. He certainly could get better sounds this days for his more ""Symphonic" Style but i dont think that he is ever going to do that because nowadays samples are very very heavy and intensive, sometimes slow to load, etc and i dont think they could fit in his Midi Direct Setup, and quite frankly i preffer it that way, to get the music almost fresh from his mind, more "Direct". When im playing his music very often i imagine how a certain track would sound in other V style, for example in this cover the first part is kind of based in a part from Mask Mov 1 , and maybe has some vibe mixed in from Mythodea, one day before i recorded the cover of mask mov 1 and 1 day before that i recorded a cover from a movement from mythodea so i kind of had those sounds in mind, i used some VP330 strings and Cs80 sounds, but with a modern choir and an oboe from the JV that he uses so much. The last improvisation is in a more slow style influenced by one alone or abrahams theme or in that style.Maybe ill upload more stuff like this, other V tracks in other V styles.Wich style do you prefer Mat? Ive seen a lot of fans that just hate or cant tolerate his work from the 90´s and 2000´s. Looking forward for 25 of January for his Nocturne album.Im shure its going to have some gems!Have a nice day Mat!

If we talk about style, I would say what he does today is more spontaneous but less built may be than at the time of Nemo.
I find some of these latest music are very beautiful, but they do not give me the same level of emotion than at the time of the Blade-Runner, Antarctica, Missing, Bounty, Soil Festivities...
Without being a defender of analog, I found its 80' sounds much more personal and "engaging" than its digital sound.
I prefer the famous sound of the CS-80 horn than its samples of real horns which are less alive. The VP-330 strings or B3 organ with effects were his signature unlike the sounds of real strings from JV or JD990. Same thing for the Rhodes sound compared to the sound of electric piano of the 90'(Voices, BR25). I agree that the sound of choir from the korg synphony is nicer than the robotics choir from the VP330 though ...I like its oboe sound from the Proteus 2...
I find that these latest music are "easy" (but beautiful, and i like) and do not demand as much effort as the time where there was no MIDI.
Imitating a Symphony Orchestra with its digital sound removes the magic he had with electronic sounds that were capable of emotions.
However I really like all his music from all eras including themes with piano (...album Nocturne). For me, the best albums/soundtracks are: Heaven and Hell, Spiral, Opera Sauvage, China, Antarctica, Soil Festivities, Mask (of course), Blade-Runner, Missing, Bounty, Mythodea, Bitter Moon , El Greco (both), and Rosetta.
