Well, "Phineas and Ferb" is one of the few shows where that didn't happen. It really is a masterpiece.

One of my favorite cartoons. It’s so damn wholesome and funny. I also love how they’re stepsiblings but most of the time they just say brother or sister. And the whole Doofenschmirtz side plot is fantastic
They managed to make things differently with the running gag, that's what makes it refreshing

Tri-Stone Area is my favorite episode. They just decided to see if they strip all the actual dialogue out and just let you use the obvious context and familiarity with the formula to piece together what's going on.

I love how this was just a quick bait-and-switch gag for the first episode, but when you think about the logic behind it, it means that Doof simply can’t recognize Perry without the hat, and the writers recognized this, and made it a consistent character trait for him.

Well, in the episode where Perry and Candace swap, Phineas and Ferb try to attract him by playing platipus sounds, but they end up attracting dozens of other platipuses in the area, all of wich seem to be domesticated. Apparently they are everywhere, and used to being around people, so it wouldn't be a stretch to immagine Doofenschmirtz probably encounters a few different platipuses from time to time that are not Perry.
But yeah, when the same platipus actively comes after you multiple times to ruin your something-evil-inators, you should be able to recognize him, even without a fedora...
@@HenrikMyrhaug That wasn’t the episode where Candace and Perry swap bodies. That was the episode where Perry was relocated and they thought he went missing. But you’re point still stands. It seems there are a lot of Platypuses in Danville, and given how most of the animals in PnF and MML seem to be fully sentient, it’s not a stretch to assume he’s had encounters with other platypuses doing human activities.
