What gets me hyped about these guys is they both seem like guys who will wear letters on their sweaters. Which is huge for the culture of the locker room and turning this ship around!!
Beyond happy with the draft. I almost spit out my food on my break when I checked in and saw we got Dickinson at 11. Excited for the future of this team.
Yeah me too, I was as surprised as Beckett Sennecke that Dickinson fell to us there! Didn’t even consider the possibility as I thought he was the 2nd best defender in this class!!!
What an epic Draft Day!! 🎉🎊🍾🍾🍾 not mad at all and excited to have finally witnessed the Sharks 1st Franchise round 1 pick 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 now we’re getting back on track n here for what these young stars are gonna become 🫡🙏🏼👌🏼🔥🔥🔥🦈🏒
I hope they find a way to get Joe Pavelski on a 1 year deal look at Wyatt Johnson how fast he was able to ajuste.. So am I crazy to want to see Celebrini Smith Musty Halttunen Mukhamadullin & Dickinson all in the nhl next year take their lumps but grow together .. that’s 6 so you surround them with 14 solid character guys that you might have something there
Think the Flyers could’ve fleeced the Wild for more picks, 2025 3rd rounder which I said Flyers could’ve gotten an extra 2nd rd pick for a top 5-6 defenseman in draft. I think it was a hard choice but u have to understand the fit. Dickinson was a top 5-6 defenseman, too if u checked all mock drafts. The domino effect was when Ducks drafted Beckett at #3.
I had heard that Dickinson was expected to play in London for another year, does anyone know if that is confirmed (or highly likely)? Beyond thrilled with the draft thus far, my only disappointment was that Dean Letourneau got drafted at 25 because I had really hoped to see him on board at 33.
The Sharks history of drafting ineptitude, particularly in the first round (I’ve been watching this team since the 1991 draft) continues. That’s why they’re one of 10 franchises without a Cup. At least they didn’t, because they couldn’t, screw up the Celebrini pick. But they really messed up by passing the game changing Buium. The Wild couldn’t believe their luck.
I have also been watching since the beginning and their first round ineptitude is not as bad as it seems. It was Doug's choices when filling out the roster and goaltending, along with style of play. They never had a group that played playoff style hockey in the playoffs. They tried to get through on talent instead of tenacity. When they were able to draft in the 9-20 range they did fine when drafting forwards(Couture, Hertl, Meier). When Doug chased defensemen, it didn't work. They even had a few forwards that they drafted in the mid to late 20's that they traded at the deadline, who turned out fine. Doug's problem is that if he traded for someone he was gonna ride that and try to resign that player, no matter what. I will say, their philosophy drafting during Wilson's years wasn't made for possibly exciting picks/players. He seemed to look for the higher floor instead of ceiling type guys. But as I said his regime's problem was drafting defensemen and goaltending.
dickinson is literally a number 1 defenseman who plays 30 minutes a night. it was an amazing pick. the two way skill that dickinson has it better then anyone else in the draft PLUS his size and skating.
GMMG made 6 great moves in one week and he saved the best for last. 14 was where everyone said the talent fell off, they needed to move up to get a top D prospect and they gave less for that than Chicago gave for a much less important jump weeks ago. A+++ Mike Grier! Can't wait to see what he does on the second day of the draft and starting Monday in the free-agent market.
To quote that one Sharks fan at the draft: "YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
Legend
😂😂😂
You forgot the "WOOOOOOO"
And "leetttttsss goooooooo!"

I am just relieved that we got Dickinson instead of Yakemchuk or Jiricek.

Next year hopefully there’s a top goalie we can draft in the 1st round
Gabriel D’Aigle
We know he gonna dominate with sharks in few years you watch!
I really like Hutson.. he’s not a big guy but he could be a Quinn Hughes lite.

He will back at London next season
I understand why they picked Dickinson over Buium, but I'm still bummed about it.
Hey JD is Dickinson NHL ready?
Not yet.
They better make sure he gets his 17 number from Bords
He’s wearing 71. Confirmed.
Ryder Ritchie #33 🙏
I like Igor Chernikov pick too, had both in top 20 on my board
r u saying you HAVE NO video of these guys? GEEZUZ goodbye
Weo lets go
Did you like the sharks fan yelling really loudly? I loved it, showed emotion and passion which is awesome

Dickinson is ranked ahead of Buium 9 out of 10 draft rankings. Maybe you should become a pro scout?

The move to trade to 11 from 14 was brilliant
