Scott but what would you rather be doing then what you are I grew up on a dairy farm we bailed small bales stacked by hand on the wagon and in the barn it was hard work but I miss it now that we sold the cows I would of loved to crop farm that would of been a dream not having to milk 365 days a year trust me you have a dream job most of us can only dream of and live through watching your videos
Never know what we have until we lose them.
Whos them Scott I pray for
If you don't like to milk cows, do something else.
So Nick forgot to put the Depends on the new trailer. 😂
@@bradjenkins932Did you read what he wrote? What does sold the cows mean to you?
Just an amazing video! So many farm youtube channels are just people looking into the camera telling us what they are going to do or where they are going and none of the actual work or the equipment. I have no idea how they have sponsorships. The video quality, the story line and the actual work being done here is amazing. I seriously feel like I'm watching a movie ever single time I watch your videos. Thank you for all the hard work making these!
Knowing what farmers go through and what it takes to actually get a crop into and out of a field, THANK YOU Welkers and all farmers for all you do!
Praying this is a good season for you all, and that Dougo remembers his open and closed 😉
Good to see you guys got some decent yields, with the conditions you have.
On our farm whe had to much rain, the crops looked so bad. Whe plowd it Al up 🙈 so no harvest this year..
twenty years + I have put booth corn and soybeans on the ground once, I had to come back with with shovel and pickup and do it without power. it makes you to not do it again, that for sure. This is something we don't talk about too much. Appreciate your efforts.
Bob, you couldn't ask for more. With your Co-Pilot Coby and then of course your Pilot, who is always with you. I believe I heard that you are the Apple of His eye, despite the Dad puns😅🤣😂. May you and your family continue to be abundantly blessed. "Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again." Luke 6-38 KJV. John here, photographing the back-roads of Northeastern Tennessee, y'all.
Nick 😬...been there done that 😉but I had to clean it up. Keep cool. God Bless!
Thanks, you too!
Me too.
Have you thought of putting a camera on the combine auger head so that the combine operator could double check hopper bottoms before dumping.
I just love the drone harvesting videos with the instrumental music! Very well done.Your family is a breath of fresh air in this stinky world that we are living in!I can always count on clean content from you. I just want you to know that I pray for your family on a regular basis.
The years fly by remember when you took delivery of those combines, the red paint hasn’t dulled in the harsh sunlight they still look sharp
Yep, that is the result of storing all your stuff under cover, in the off season.
@@greggb1416 came here to say that! You know it!
The only thing that new truck needs is some updated headlights 😃 Looks to be running great though 👍 God bless the harvest 🙏
Need to find some good ones! We don't like them either
@@WelkerFarms Legarms, name the new truck the Blue diesel
@@rustyhelmick92or NoDEF😂
Seen a farmer clean up a mess in a county road big pile used the combine he made It look easy no shovels
Thought of you guys every time in rained here this summer....but maybe in the end God doesn't need that much water to grow a crop. Really hoping you continue to be pleasantly surprised throughout the harvest. Thanks for taking the time to share your story!
I thought the trailer was some new kind that sucked the grain up off the ground from piles all over the field 😂. In East Central Ohio we've had over 26 inches of rain this year and over 4 inches of rain in July.
I grew up on a farm in Hilliard. I do miss the farm though. I lost both of my grandpas before we moved out there and the farmer was like a grandpa to me. I became a mechanic because of his influence on me and spent the last 35 years in the field. The farm is gone now but I have some of his tools and his old farm truck to keep the memories alive.
We’ve been getting rain weekly!! Since october last year. We harvested close to 8t of wheat per hectare, ive heard people getting 5 to 6 tons per hectare.. we should be getting 10t+.
This year, so far, we’ve gotten 750mm of rain.. its too wet.
The blue blazer is a good name. Mistakes happen. It's great to see Dad going through another harvest. Colby enjoys the ride. Scott's comments are 💯 percent accurate. God bless your family. Thanks for raising food for this amazing country
Should call the new one the "Pete a pillar"
Hi Welkers
Your videos, especially the drone shots are world class. The colours and clarity are excellent.
I’m no ‘videoist’ but watch a lot of UA-cam.
The farming content is interesting too, as it is different from ag this side of the pond.
Putting some numbers on costs/sale prices would be informative too. P
Thanks for another great video everyone!!! It was interesting and enjoyable for sure.
Love your new grain auger setup. Appreciate your overview of the new auger. Has really nice upgrades and love those turntable wheels. That will help. Nice machine, glad you were able to get it.
The accident with the new grain trailer got cleaned up right away. Thanks to Scott and the payloader for picking the peas up off the ground. Let us know who did that when you find out. Oh my.
Looks like the new truck is running just fine. That is great.
Combines are doing great. Your crop production is coming right along. So glad you are doing better this year. 👍!!!!!!!!!
Bob I see Colby is enjoying the combine ride again as well as some of the grandkids!!!!!’ Nice to see that.
Colby is surely a trusted co pilot.
So glad to hear your crop production is good this year. Continuing with the prayers for you.
You all take care and be safe.
With my blessings.
The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
😊😊👍🙏🙏💕💕🇺🇸🇺🇸
I truly enjoy all of your videos but I appreciate your honesty and integrity the most.
Thanks for inserting the date of the video.
the open trap thing.... Yes ive been there before. The ag hoppers dont help situation. Old style hoppers were closer to the, ground. I try to,watch for them being open but you get busy get distracted.
Amazing video Nick and crew!!! I’ve been watching you for 5 years now and you answered more questions for me in this video than I’ve learned in many many hours of watching you and others. Such as why you and some run grain augers vs grain legs. I always thought grain legs were just fancy farmers but now it makes sense why row crop farmers have them vs a multi crop farm of grains. Also answered when and why farmers upgrade and why those choices are made. So thank you. Love watching
Since the seat in the New truck says “Elite” call the truck “Elite Pete”!!!
Wow...I can't believe it's already been 6 years since saying goodbye to the old combines....geesh...time flies I guess
I was thinking the same, time sure flies.
From what I've seen so far of your harvest, you've done a great job with the invasive plants. I'm sure that has helped with your yield.
Plus, timely rain with your spraying probably was better this year.
i left school at 14 and went to work and live on a farm. i still had to do my school work so had to come in off the fields for 3 hours a day and cram in as much as i could. anyway, we were a dairy farm so raised cows for milk and beef. people seem to take it for granted that the meat the have on their plates is just there and they dont think about where it came from. in other words, whilst most people have no idea where their food comes from, there are thousands who do, so keep up the fantastic work gents...........
8 to 10 inches of rain a year? That's pretty low. We just had a 2 week monsoon and received in excess of 15 inches of rain at my house in Eastern North Carolina.
All my bin lid cables have a 1/8" clamp on them for a stop so you know when the lid is fully open.
If I look at the front lights of the truck all I can think of is "Doofy". Wishing you all a safe harvest and full bins. Greetings from Belgium
We have a 16” Westfield,
Great augers, has that big gear box on the front for 1000 shaft, and reverse shaft option, unloads tridem grain trailer 7mins
Fall harvest was always my favorite time of year. A time to reflect on what went right but also wrong, with optimism for next year crop. Good luck with your upcoming harvest results in 2024, but also decades of successful crop going forward. Thanks again for feeding the world!!!
I named the 377 Pete - "Blue Collar" cause it just fits for the truck since its a great workhorse that surely will do many years of service to your family farm. Also appreciate all the insight you guys always provide especially with me being from Slovenia I always learn something new aswell. Greetings from Slovenia to your familys and stay safe out there guys!
riding with grandpa in the combine = all is right with the world
It was interesting to hear why you western farmers have multiple small bins and almost no grain legs-I always wondered. We take US 2 almost every summer between MN and the west end at Seattle, so we see a lot of western farming, so different from what we do in IN. The improvements on the Westfield augers look good, particularly being able to use 1000 RPM PTO. I have run 1394's and 1384's with my old White and it would have been happier to be able to run more than 1700 rpm while loading wet corn. Are the lower bearings still a weak point? I have changed many, maybe because we have more wet weather-there does not seem any good way to get more than a few years out of those lower bearings.
Triple Star Mfg makes steerable axle conversions for most any auger or conveyor made. I have one on a 13x74 Westfield and it was on my 13x71 for many years prior. Just swapped it over when I bought the new one.
Make sure you check the gates on your hopper bottom bins if you have any , not that I never have
I know the yield isn't what you'd hoped for, but it is great to see the combines actually picking up peas and not just rocks! I remember all the peas on the ground because of the hail. It is great to see the bushels per acre actually staying above zero and putting it in the hopper! great stuff guys.
man i love these new aerodynamic shields between the truck's back axles and the trailer's axle. pretty sure they make some good fuel economy when the truck + trailer is parked in the field like shown in the video. awesome!
I looked underneath the truck 😄
So did I.
What are you two talking about? 🤷♂️
Why would you look under there?
Y'all are a bunchy of jerks, pointing that mess out! /s Poor Nick.
@@WelkerFarms It's tradition to forget at least once a season.
if that a Macdon header with case name on it .. Macdon puts a spare knife in the tube on the back side of the header . have a great harvest this year .. were dry here in Alberta.
The Walker family God bless y’all for helping supply America with food products. Hope your yield was high enough to make profit so you can reap the fruits of your labor always give thanks. Stay safe. Enjoy the video.
The shots in the beginning are awesome, but I would love to see old glory flying! Thanks, and God bless from Tennessee!
Will have old glory flying in the next intro! God bless!
"Old 99" would be a good name for the Peterbilt.Because any vehicle 25 years or older in the US is classified as an antique.
I enjoyed watching you bringing in the harvest. I can't imagine working on those size fields....being from the hilly fields of the east coast. Blessings.
Thank you Bob,Nick,Scot great to see those red machines rollin.hope youz have a great harvest guys.😅
Where is The positioning signal Scott invented?
Farmers are the best! I worked on a neighbors dairy farm back when I was in mid/high school. The absolute best, hard working and most rewarding time of my life for sure! Sometimes you were running from early in the morning till late into the night for days on end. There was nothing better!
👍🏻👍🏻 GREAT NEWS FOR YIELD !!! The GOOD LORD GIVETH a little in Montana this season !!! AWESOME video and variety, covering the new harvest. It IS SURPRISING, the amount of crop that went on the ground before (operator) noticed. OH WELL the EXCITEMENT of first day can be quite overwhelming!
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SHARING OF THE LIFE IN RURAL MONTANA. Waiting for the next episode. 😏
GOD BLESS 🙏🏻🙏🏻😍😍😍😍😍
I guess you could also use the drone to position the auger. Just a thought 🤔 maybe put a cable clamp on to mark when the lid is completely open.
Glad to hear that this year's harvest is somewhat better than feared! Keep up the good work. Here in Germany there's still too much humidity.
Good to see the star of this program on the job! Keep up the good work Coby!! Also what happen to the intro to this show? Thunder, Lighting all that sort of thing!! Let me know Thanks!!
Adding some flex in the standard editing
The beginning of the video is absolutely beautiful
We always scooped the spills back into the header. Gets cleaned that way.
Yup, that's what we did too.....years and years ago!
I am happy for you that your crop is coming in a little better than expected! Stay safe!
Welkers, truly are a team; each has each others back. True farmers cover for each other; this is why we like your channel. As for the peas; mom use to make pea soup from the cannibalized ham bone. We debated many time which was better, green or yellow splits. My favorite was yellow with lots of carrots, celery and onions. What a meal, " I can almost taste it now..." Keep us supplied, we appreciate it !
Hey Nick always a good feeling to get started.
For everyone of your viewer's outside of the US you should try some metric measurements.
Just start with the basics like
Degrees Celsius
Tonnes per hectare
Millimetres of rainfall
Im sure you will build on them over time.
Great videos even though.
Hubby says Blue, for truck name was thinking of Paul Bunyan's ox , Babe the big blue ox. Also praying for a profitable harvest for you all, you so deserve it. Men of great faith. Love to see it.
Throwing Dougo under the bus NOT COOL lol
I didn’t check the gate at a young age and felt horrible about out but it was explained to me that that was how God feeds the birds of the air! I always look at the ground when unloading now, may God bless you with a bountiful harvest
Praying that God will bless your farm with a bountiful harvest. Keep the faith brother
May God bless the Welker family. I pray that rain comes to ALL the farmers. Thanks for what you do! 🙏❤️
Good luck with your harvest.
New Auger looks good.😊
i seen a farmer delivering grain to a big terminal in South,Dakota. Was his first load brand, new, trailer and pup. Had electric traps. He drove,in the dump pit proceeded to dump his lead trailer then he had,the traps on auto to close. Somehow when he proceeded to pull ahead the, pup, opened out side. He left a nice windrow,of grain all the way to the dump butzitzwas empty, before he got there. Learning curve on electric traps never put them in your pocket can
accidently activate the remote. Had also, local trucker, that dumped a whole hopper,of urea on the highway at 65mph.😂😂😂
Jeez when you first started the header it sounded worse than our 20 year old John Deere 9600
The bin yard minus the concrete foundation looks great!!!
Man after my own heart, I would have done the same 😊
When the hopper is left and no front end loader, we call a neighbor to give to his goats or chickens. If by a road it will be picked up. Wheat is so cheap it is not worth scooping up. After a few hundred loads it happens!
I am glad to hear the yield isn't as bad as last year. Amazing drone shots as always! Looking forward to more live streams this harvest! Take care and God bless!
That International is an awesome looking rig. Still my favorite on the farm. Awesome paint job.
You should start a video collection of Leg Arms wisdom. You're a deep guy, Scott. I love hearing your wisdom!
The new truck name “ the blue Welker” because the Welker put it together
Blue Bonnet as in Spearman from the film, Open Range. Role played by Robert Duvall.
It's the drivers responsibility to make sure trailer is clean and hoppers are closed
Very encouraging to see the early harvest yields. Seems like that you always feel put some grain on the ground.
Looked under the truck. Saw nothing. Looked under the trailer…………hmmmmmm
Years ago I worked for the local CooP and was running the leg and dumping trucks when this gal pulls up in a tandem with a swinging end gate. After opening the end gate and hoisting the bed to unload, she took off lowering the bed on the go with the gate still open! By the time she got back to the scale house I’d fired the 3 wheeler and raced to shut her down before she could round the corner and remove the gate on the concrete dock to secure the gate. A couple years later another gal in a tandem cleanly removed the gravity unload spout on one of the 100,000 bushel concrete bins making a big mess. Grain vacs were a new thing and they had to rent one for the salvage…
When you’ve seen a few cats astrophes like those, leaving a gravity slide open doesn’t seem such a big deal…lol
Anddddd in the east its flippin soaking wet with localized flooding..
I was at Glacier park a week and half ago and it was 108 and full of smoke.
I always look forward to watchen my Fav farmers, Been tuning in for I guess at least two years. God bless and does a rain dance for winter wheat..
Yes it much better than last hope harvest goes great this year for you. Thx. Been watching your videos last 4 years now
A Farmer That Honors God Prepares For Rain When Everything Say's The Rain Won't Come!
Welkers We Thank you for All your Hard Work
Great to see you are getting some kind of crop this year. Hope you have a breakdown free harvest. Take care!!
I'd drive all the way to Montana just to drive by this amazing Farm "Welker Farms", It always looks so amazing on video in person it's got to be Epic!!
Scott, Nice try blaming Dougo, we all know it was actually ...
😂
it was that drone pilot, he was lookin at the droneing not the farming ;) LOL HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHa
Scott was driving the struggle bus.
…The big Swede. Eric did it😊
I’d blame the guy that hooked us the trailer!!
Nice to see some harvest videos god bless safe harvest out there ....I was out in that area on the wheat harvest 20 years ago
That is one really nice looking trailer, even the wheels are shiny. Hope you have a safe harvest.
Farmers should be given more arcalade because they work hard too feed us
Tune that newly built Cat! Not because the more power, rather than to have a healthy air to fuel ratio.
Congratulations of harvest so far. Thank you for all you and family do to feed all of us.
Wow, I love that. Y’all have these videos that wide-open country is something for this western Kentucky boy to see. Also, it amazes me how 5 inches of rain can still make a crop amazing the difference of our soils is something else if you have that type of rain here you wouldn’t have nothing growing but weeds
When we did that many years ago, we had a neighbor comment, “Had you kept going, you could’ve got the whole field in that load.”
Grain legs only really make sense on the farm if you're handling high-volume crops like corn where we're unloading a semi every 7 minutes with three combines going, and we're dumping from the driers into bins with 90ft sidewalls. When you got bins scattered all over, the transport auger makes more sense. Downside to augers is that they require a LOT of power compared to a leg. I like that steerable axle BTW.
One bad thing about newer combines is they don't have the bench behind the seat that your kids love. My nieces and nephews are very disappointed this year now that we've upgraded.
You need to call the black and blue truck - the Big "Bruise"r!!!
Why conveyor into auger? Can’t you go conveyor into conveyor? Wouldn’t that be faster and easier on the seed?
That opening sequence just never gets old. Thanks for assembling those shots.
I thank y'all and all the Farmer's and Rancher around this country!
What incredible drone footage! It's great to see Mr. Bob & always love his sense of humor! ❤Colby
Nick, what I have learned in life is if you think about something being wrong, just go and check it out. It would probably only be wrong about 10% of the time, but them one or two times will haunt you for a long time.
I'm averting my eyes from the bottom of the truck oh Nick.
Sorry....I couldn't resist the Monty Python reference. I'll see myself out now.
Bushels by acre divided by peas on the ground? 😁
Did you see where the Nelons gospel singers were killed when the plane they were in crashed north of Gillette, Wyoming? They were going to meet the Gaithers who were in Seattle. They were all headed for a cruise to Alaska. They figure that something happened to the autopilot. Of course, there is much more to the story. I thought that your family would like to know.
Devastating.
