The cartoon had more memorable characters, episodes and moments. Who can forget such classics as American Maid, Die Fledermaus, Sewer Urchin, Thrakkorzog, The Terror, Chairface Chippendale, The Evil Midnight Bomber What Bombs At Midnight, and of course... Barry.
I loved the Animated series, but for some reason, had a hard time catching the live action one... I think it aired in a bad time slot in my area. One thing that makes me feel really stupid? I always considered American Maid to be more a Captain America parody than a Wonder Woman. Perhaps just because I connect shoe throwing to shield throwing, and well America more to those to than I would an Amazon from Themyscira, despite similar appearances and gender. *shrugs*
The new Tick is awesome!!! But, the only letdown that I have found, is the opening theme song. It changed. It got you ready for the episode and I'm sad about that. :-(
I hated that Fox took the cartoon series off and decided to go with live action. As soon as I heard that news I sadly knew it would fail. Especially as a prime time show. I just couldn't see it getting a large enough audience. I think the cartoon would have increased the audience by appealing to children as well. Also it wouldn't have been expected to perform as well since it wasn't in prime time.
Absolutely loved the cartoon and Patrick Warburton was "The Tick". His build, his voice and the smarmy lunacy portrayed were perfect for the character. The one problem was that there were never actual physical fights.

Patrick Warburton is hilarious but he's better as a voice actor....was hard to get into the live action after watching the cartoon for so many years. Just couldnt get into it

I remember thinking the tick was hilarious (I only ever saw the cartoon btw) at the time, although I don't think it was on all that much and I ended up watching Earthworm Jim more consistantly as it was on more. I actually thought both cartoons (i.e earthworm jim and the tick) were sort of on par with each other but, from the lines you quoted here, I think the tick might have the better dialogue! I really must find the cartoon again. I remember thinking it was good but my memory of it is fuzzy.

As great an actor Warburton was as the Tick, he didn’t really play a good one. I mean Tick was stupid, but he was nowhere as stupid as Warburton’s Tick.
i never watched the lice action seris, mainly because i never knew they made one. i was a kid and loved the animated seris but watching back on it due to a nostolgia kick, the jokes in the cartoon was just more funny due to i understand more of the subtleties the jokes where ment to portray. based on this analisis between the 2 i can say i would much rather the cartoon over the live action but i will give the live action a go to see what its acually like.

The cartoon tas was hilarious some of the humor made me cry laughing.
