That first swim of the next season makes the work of taking it down properly all worthwhile! I got the same 9x18 pool this year so this is helpful. The reverse hose syphon trick is a good tip! Thanks for the video!

Thank you for the video it really helps!! I've had my 18'x9'x52"pool for 3 years now. I use gold bond powder on the tubes when I set up in the spring. Before I take down the stands I go around the entire pool freeing up the liner from the tubes. That way when all the water is out and the liner is dry the tubes slide out easily. When setting up don't be bashful, use a lot of powder!! It pays off at the end of the season. I also use a submersible pump to empty my pool. It still takes a long time but I can control where the water goes and it reduces the amount of mopping I need to do at the end.

I used a broom handle to break the poles from the side rails.

I use talc powder on the metal frame when inserting. This helps with the friction even at the end of the season when taking the pool down.

I would try an air compressor. Insert the air nozzle between the fabric and metal tube tapping off the fabric holes with a piece of duct tape. I have used a similar method to unstuck plastic five gallon buckets when stacked together "works like a charm"

Thanks a lot for the video, really useful... tried it myself before watching video, so would be very useful if I would watch and then start disassembling :D I really was wondering about the last part, on how to pack the main material... would be better to add couple more details on how to fold it properly :)

I would suggest using compressed air on a long tube to help getting the rails loose.

Thank you for the detailed video! So, we have a really small Bestway, 8x14 oval. We are in Northern Georgia, so it will freeze a couple times in the winter, maybe even a hard freeze. The pool is in a carport so it gets little sun and not much debris except for bugs and pollen. This was our first experience with an above ground pool, and one thing that concerned me was that both sides bowed in a little; however, it did not collapse. We are two old ladies, 68 and 74, and we had a little trouble getting it up (3 days!) but we got it done. Next time should be easier. Probably TMI, but would you advise we take it down and store it or leave it up? In any case I will disconnect the pump and filter and store those in the garage. Thanks for your time!

The one year I took mine down moles messed up where I had leveled the ground and mice chewed a hole in it. I think I'm taking mine down for good. Its just been to hard to keep the sixe I have clean.
I used a water pump to get all the water out.

Yeah, my tip would be leave it up until it falls apart and then buy a new one....that's way too much work.

How long did it take to disassemble? Thinking of buying a used one, but we have to take down ourselves- want to know how much time to allow for tear down. Also, is set up pretty much the process reversed?
