  • [5 DISLIKES] Welcome to final episode of my oldschool rusty Honda restoration! Sorry I took my time on this one, I fell off the wagon and it took a lot of strength to get back. But it's here! Hope you enjoy.
    UA-cam isn't my job, and since the CRX is now done-ish, I'll take a little break. But if you enjoyed watching and want to support me anyway, I'll be most grateful! Please use links below:

      So, engine idle n performance smooth now? Initially, I would have said running rich, due to carbon build up at exhaust...so then, would have said timing or igniter in dizzy...knowing you checked plugs and wires and grounds...hope she is smooth as butter!

    • @sidney9534
      @sidney9534  Рік тому

      @SoundBoy Design yes, it was running rich, thanks to the bad MAP sensor. It's still not 100%, something going on with TPS too. So pretty much every sensor went bad.

    Awesome job and glad you did it on a CRX.
    While I understand the reason of economics to get motivated and to fix/restore a car, not everything is or needs to be about economics to make sense.
    In terms of economics with lack of depreciation + appreciating value + ease of fixing + no mandatory dealer service to keep warranty + high insurance coverage = You would be edging to that $100K mark in savings + appreciation due to the fix + appreciation due to the market on the CRX.

    A great set of videos of a very rare car. Well done on some of that welding, , you made it look easy. But 18 months of work, sounds about my pace. I have my original UK 1987 Civic CRX i -16 which i bought in 1989 and drove as my daily car until 2000 where I took it off the road with 118,000 miles and stored in my garage for 10 years, (couldn't part with it) (value at that time £1500 Top)
    Then transferred to my parents bigger garage (Dry) where it still sits. All brakes redone, timing belt to do, and drain the fuel tank and clean the fuel system, due to Ethanol being added to fuel, sunroof leaks a bit and need to clean up some rust, but its in tidy condition, no wear on seats, and engine is the original brown top twin cam, ZC1. It has the factory option electric windows too, the original buyer was my friends girlfriend. I will put up a video soon, but it is 15 miles away, so not easy to work on regularly.
    The paint colour for 80s Honda was Shetland White, I dont think championship white was around back then, until Integra was Hot. 👍

      TY so much! That material was a cheap blanket. To be honest I don't think it does anything, I was just trying random stuff. Car is not the loudest, but not quiet either. So I'm guessing best to invest in quiet tires and the expensive sound deadening stuff.

      The main problem was a bad MAP sensor. I ordered a new one from Aliexpress and it runs much much better now. There's more in my d-series thread in case you have some ideas - thank you so much, I appreciate it! www.d-series.org/threads/most-surefire-way-to-make-the-first-gen-dohc-zc-run-clean-and-efficient-obd1-possible.315846/page-2#post-5179776

    Why spend all that time only to put the ugly front bumper back on without repainting it as well? Sick project

      Thanks! I wanna paint it all eventually, I was just tired at the time.
      And I have to research how to fix and prep the plastics. Some of the plastic panels are also crazy brittle, so maybe not even worth fixing.
