- This is a video you'll never forget! Metra Mp36 401 pushes an inbound through Westmont. The conductor gets out of the train and tells me it's ILLEGAL to take photos of trains at Westmont, what a joke!
That's the same idiot who told us he we should have been arrested for standing at the window in the front of the cabcar. He seriously needs to take a refresher course in the Constitution and Metra's photography policy.
The funny thing is we still got our videos that day anyways. I came out to Downers Grove on that trainset yesterday, but unfortanately did not see him on that train. I would have corrected him...
There are even more railfans now so it would probably be harder to say it's illegal.
The conductor was being a male Karen in this video, I usually just ignored these foolish people because Metra photography said you could film as long as you don't used a flash. I'm glad you handled it with respect.
That conductor was so wrong
When I was filming out the window nearing Union that's the guy who told me to put it away, he's also just a dick in general, made me get my school ID out when I already had the student discount ticket.

I think I may have seen that guy before. If I did I didn't have problem because if was him I am thinking of that day I didn't have camera with me or maybe I hadn't started UA-cam yet. But wow if I were you Rob I would have flipped. You WEREN'T doing any harm to anyone else. Well I take that back it would have been a harm to our eyes because he isn't exactly a pretty sight LOL but you handled it way better than I would have. It probably would have ended up with me giving him a few choice words!!
That was soooo ridiculous its not even funny! There are no laws that prohibit railfanning except if your trespassing on private property.

Sorry the conductor gave you a hard time. I liked the way you handled it. I film trains too, and it's not illegal as you say. Oh, and cool video.
If there's 2 kinds of people I hate most within the railroads, it's foamers that are troublesome, and railroad employees who are complete phlemwads.

I am sick and tired of how self-righteous assholes think they are obligated to stick their nose into other peoples business! Some 1 tried to give me shit for making a video of a MARTA Train when I was in Atlanta and its on youtube! Check out my interesting train videos, as they are very unique as I love trains and as I say in my videos, trons are fucking cool!

No unless your on private property or land. There are no laws that prohibit railfanning otherwise
