This film was made 100 years ago and I'm amazed at how it stands up so well in 2023. The organ accompaniment was brilliant and it sounds like a large concert or church organ, rather than a theatre organ to me. Also theatre's usually don't have the amount of reverberation as evidenced here. A superb effort by Matteo Venturini.

I just love silent movies anyway, but they're even better when accompanied by an organ, especially a great theater organ (...or at least this SOUNDS like a theater organ)! Thanks for sharing! :-)

TakersMissy unfortunately in Italy we haven't a tipical american theatre organ, but only a church organ. Furthermore the organ is evermore in the church, we haven't any organ in concert halls. This is an experiment

They are stereotypes because they are mostly true. Older Jews of this period DID look and act like this.
But it's pro Jewish really, because the young, modern, assimilated Jew comes in all looking like Zepo Marx and makes to customer completely at ease. The moral, don't avoid Jewish businesses just because of the ethnically creepy stereotypical oldsters.
