I apologise in advance for saying “irregardless” as I was thinking about irrespective and regardless at once and blurted out that abomination. Pls don’t use it ever as it makes one sound like a cretin! My mistake.😆
This is a weird question, but is there anyway you could measure the chaps (I think that’s what you called it) of your authentic bag? It’s the only thing I can’t figure out with mine.
Great comparison! I have a brown Longchamp Le Pliage and I love it. These super fakes and deception makes it difficult to buy a pre loved item anywhere. I'm still hoping the Speedy 30 in the monogram print I purchased from Fashionphile is authentic. I've viewed multiple videos on UA-cam and honestly I still get nervous that someone with a keen eye will point out that it's a fake. Well, there goes the almost $600 I spent. Anyway, thanks for sharing your knowledge! Highly appreciated 👍🙂
Thank you! I authenticate designer bags and specialise in Louis Vuitton! Fashionphile is highly reputable and they only sell authentic bags, I’ve never seen a fake bag on their site so I can personally recommend them. You have nothing to worry about!
Well this was helpful. I'm so unhappy that these things happen in the first place. I hate dishonesty with a passion. Since I'm a new fan of the bags I'm grateful that you did share so we can keep an eye out on things💕
Hi babe, thanks so much for this video~! I'm still scrutinizing bags online and trying to figure out. I've a question about the "G" with the middle part that you mentioned. Does it apply to the label/tag on the inside of the bag as well?
You’re so welcome! You mean the small plastic label inside with the serial code? No it does not apply to that. It only applies to the hardware. I do notice that the fake bags have a much harder plastic tag than the authentic. Also all of the fakes always say Made in France and never any other country.
I really hope you get your money back! I like shopping secondhand as it's more sustainable, usually. Unscrupulous sellers make me rethink, as I've been burned by bad purchases in the past.
Omg I am all about sustainable living and that includes shopping!!! How have you been burned in the past? Usually ebay sides with me because they can see from transactions and messages.
Good tips, but to someone unexperienced with those bags it would be impossible to tell the fake without comparing it to the original/real one. They produce really good fakes :(
Hi, thank you for your help. I wanna ask, does the serial number really can work determine whether the item is authentic or fake? Cause there's an online seller that sell it with a good rating and the right price, they said those are authentic but i still doubt it cause they sell all of colours from all the type
No, you cannot tell by the serial number as fakes all have serial numbers too. You can tell by the things I mentioned in this video like the shape of the “G” it should look like more like a C etc. Also, the arch of the jockey’s back is much higher on the authentic than the fake. Lastly, fakes always say “made in France” authentic ones can be made in other countries not just France. So getting one that is made in another country will most likely be authentic if the other details are on point.
@@idylledoll Yes it is! all of their bags said “made in France”, ok now i’m pretty sure they sell the fake one. Ithink i should buy it from the store. Thank you so much you help me a lot ❤️
Just received a fake myself and am returning it, was off Mercari. One tell was the interior stitching of the jockey, messy and not clean lines. I also noticed the weight of the sipper pulls felt different, fake slightly lighter and the exterior jockey more pronounced where on the real it’s flatter.
Ugh I’m so sorry to hear that but I’m glad you noticed and now can buy an authentic as you know what to look for! It’s infuriating how many dishonest sellers are out there.
Good thing you had an authentic one already!! I love this color of Longchamp & love tiffany blue so Ive had my eyes on it. I can’t even understand how they are replicating a Longchamp lepliage considering the price point of them.. plain stupid. Contact Ebay support if the seller doesn’t cooperate, they don’t allow sales of unathentic items. Ebays customer service has worked with me before for similar situations!
Thanks! They will replicate anything popular regardless of its price point. Yeah, I’ve been selling and buying from eBay for years, it’s just annoying to have to go through the entire process cus you cannot open a case until you’ve shown that you’ve tried to communicate first and you have to wait a week for the seller to respond etc. It’s just a waste of time because she’s a deceitful bint.
Both bags have the same snap buttons with "stripes". I thought only the fake one has "stripes" on the snap button. The authentic one would have "circles" on the snap button. Can you pls confirm?
They’ve recently changed that feature to circles but if you look at older authentic Longchamps, they do have the stripes on the snap button. I’ve purchased 3 from the flagship stores in London around 9 years ago and they all had the stripes. Please see this authentication site and scroll down for the photos: mytrendonlineshop.weebly.com/how-to-spot-a-fake-longchamp.html
Thanks for this amazing detailed video. I just bought a longchamp off ebay and it looks fake, I compared it to a real one I have as well but your video helped a lot, and it's def not authentic !
Vanessa J I’m so happy my video helped you. It’s disappointing how many fakes are floating around eBay and they do nothing to stop it. Hope you get your refund soon. Lemme know if you have any issues! X
@@idylledoll She just replied to me and omg she is denying everything. I sent her pictures of the exact model her replica claims to to be in comparaison and she's telling me mines is definitely fake (the audacity lol). On her listing she says "100% authenticity guarantee or full refund" so I asked her to please honour that, or else i'll have to ask eBay to intervene. It's so frustrating that I was excited to get this bag, and it turns out to be fake. It's also outrageous to think about how many people have been duped, sellers like this need to be banned.
I found this very interesting and informative. Do you know in case a Le Pliage bag is made in China, and the "I" from the word China is a bit longer than the rest of the word; is that a sign that the bag is not authentic?
I had a very bad experience buying Longchamp bags on Ebay before. I bought 2 Le Pliage bags from a seller in Singapore and a few days later she contacted me saying she forgot to attach the receipts proving their authenticity and that she’d send them by mail. I then received 2 receipts for the 2 bags. Ten months later, out of an argument with my sister about the authenticity of the bags I bought, I called the store on the receipt to check its validity. They emailed me back saying both receipts were fake 😵
I then contacted the seller asking for a refund but she said she only accepted if the bags hadn’t been used. So I contacted Ebay which then directed me to Paypal. Long story short I had to pay the postage to return the bags but Paypal refunded the full amount of the purchase 😀.
Vi Nhân Nguyễn so happy you were able to get your refund!!! I was also able to get my refund and appalled the seller had resisted it as authentic again but I hope the buyer will know the difference so she can report her and enough strikes the buyer will be suspended. I’m glad you enjoyed this video. Xx
A few more things the ARCH of the jockeys back on the pull is highly arched and pronounced, the fake, not so much.I have a transparent authenticity tag in mine, with set of 10 numbers, the last three on mine,001,which denotes black.Tell Ebay you have Fake based on these things, take closeups, besides, sellers know most of the time if they are selling fakes, there's one person on Ebay who does fake receipts,I have seen this with LV as well.
@@Kammitoes Le Pliage is not that of an expensive bag overall, it’s not a Chanel lol, I have gotten an authentic le pliage for 60 in used but like new condition before so not unheard of. I authenticate LV all the time and have gotten crazy deals on the grey market. So your patronising “common sense” comment is baseless for this situation lol. Have a lovely day.
the cheapest you can buy the large club where i live is $200. In 2020 the RRP was $189. I just bought an XS le pliage from Longchamp and paid $185. If you’re lucky enough to pay less then i’m happy for you.
If you are going to do a comparison video, it would be helpful to use two identical bags - not one with long handles, the other short. Secondly, you need to contextualise the importance of buying authentic, otherwise some will see the video and say 'so what' at the end of it, not caring why it matters whether it is authentic or not as long as it looks real enough to the naked eye and unsuspecting of the truth. There are those out there who would prefer to save money not worrying about a tiny bit of stitch poking above a cross stitchline or a slight variation in grain texture or slightly duller metallic trim. They deliberately seek out a good fake to save money. It's either that or nothing at all. People need good reasons to buy authentic, although some of those reasons will be obvious, but you still need to state why it matters and what the pitfalls are to buying a fake bag. You mentioned nothing at all about this subject.
I do not “need” to do anything, hun. If the purpose of my video was to educate people on the principles and ethics of authentic vs fakes the title would indicate that and it is another subject in its entirety which would be best reserved for a separate video. People have their own personal and economical reasons why they choose to buy either and it’s honestly none of my business what people want to spend their money on. If you did not find my video helpful or useful perhaps you should find another video that covers what you’re looking for instead of prattling on about what I should have covered as that in itself is pretty pointless as my video has already been made, or better yet create your own video! Have a lovely day. X

I must point out Longhamp( authentic) has reinforced snaps, both on the front and inside back, with a plastic disc.
Thank you for additional input to help others!
This is always a dead giveaway, not to have the reinforced snap, for obvious reasons,it costs more $$$ the details, loved your video!
