I love the beautiful artistry of this lovely pastoral scene. I enjoy the way you developed the scene to pull you into the painting and makes you want to stay awhile and enjoy the serenity. I liked the way you took 2 photos and your wonderful imagination to create an enchanting painting (the masters would be pleased).
I would absolutely love to see more of this type of painting. The southern church is also a wonderful painting.
I am just starting to use the heritage paints and I'm not use to this style so I will need to practice more before I attempt this painting (I hope I'm a fast learner).
Thank you Judie. You can do this. Just take your time and most of all have some fun. It shows in your brush!

You are very welcome

Hi David. I am writing to you from New Zealand. Your painting is awesome. I love it that you have a very loose style and you explain everything so clearly. I am only an amateur and sometimes feel afraid to try it thinking that it will probably look horrible. Anyway thank you for sharing.
Hi Audrey, All good paintings start with the belief that it can be done. It does take practice, but you got this. 😀
There are no amateurs, only painters who haven't painted for as many years, or as steadily as a pro. I started as a teenager, now 73, and only paint to relax. The landscape I just finished has been in the works since 1997, just ordered the matte varnish to finish it. Be patient and persistent and you'll get there. And above all, push your imagination to the limits.
This is absolutely stunning!! I can only hope mine is half as good as yours.
You can do it!
Thank you 🙏
You’re welcome 😊
Loved this. Makes me want to paint our barn... again. Thank you! Love the music you play too, by the way. 🙂
Thank you! 😊
Очень восхетительно❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Lindissimo... Parabéns!
Thank you!
Thank you ! 🤩👍❤️😍🥰
You’re welcome 😊
Wonderfully painted landscape scene with farm house and barn. Your attention to detail is fascinating and especially liked the hill and painting of shrubs & flowers, pathways & boarders around the windows & both roofs. Do you happen to sell reference photos? Did not see them on list on your store. Your trees are so interesting!
I put the reference photos for the videos here on the channel in the members area. We don't sell reference photos unless they are in a book. Thanks!
New sub! Liked 🙏😀🐸
Awesome thank you!
Hi David - what a wonderful artist and teacher you are! Would you mind providing details on the initial glaze that was used; what is the ratio of color to the glaze medium and water? Thank you in advance!
Hi Ann, depends on what transparency you like. I like mostly glazing medium, a little water to thin and then touch of color. Better to apply several thin layers than one thicker one.
Thank you, welcome to the channel!
Briefly.....I love you...
😀
But of course much better
Thank you very much!
nice
Thanks
I love this and I am going to try it soon! I am positive mine will not look exactly like this so if I use your video as a reference can I sell it? New artist 😀
Hi Sandra, Yes you can sell it. We do ask that you put "inspired by David Jansen" on the back of the painting. This helps protect our copyrights. We appreciate it. Enjoy!
@@JansenArtEducation Many thanks ❤️

Good morning David
I love your tutorials. I would like to know if I have your permission to use this painting in a county fair contest?
We need to know your name etc. Then you can do it.
@@JansenArtEducation
Hi David
Yes I am an amateur in acrylic painting and I reside outside of Nashville Tennessee and they were having a variety of medium painting contest at a county fair located near me.
My name is Jane Kohler.
Your paintings/tutorials are so wonderful that I have attempted some of them. I So thankful for your videos and trying to learn as I have retired 2 yrs ago and always said that I would get back into painting.
I loved this! It's gorgeous!
Could you please tell me the width of the birch ply you were using?
Thank you so much!
Hi Helena, I am using 1/4 inch thick Birch 7 ply. Nice surface.
@@JansenArtEducation Thank you so much!
How can you prevent the paint dry? I had a lot problems in mixing colours likes this
Dear David, thank you very much for your wonderful lessons. I have an autumn picture from Switzerland and would be very happy if you could show how you paint the larches in the "green environment". However, I would need your e-mail address in order to send you the picture
You can always reach us at JansenArtStudio@aol.com
Forgot to ask my question. What do you use for sketching?
I use a carpenter's pencil. Doesn't smear.
@@JansenArtEducation Thank you David.
QUESTION: It looks like the light source for the house is coming from the right but the light source for the barn looks like it is coming from the left. Am I missing something? Regards,
Hi Gary, That would happen if the light was morning or evening as it is coming from the right or left. You would also have long cast shadows as I painted in the Church lesson. Artists paint these lights into landscapes because they add the most interest, especially with the cast shadows. On this one, I said I was using a Dutch technique of bringing the light from the front (midday light) creating a "path of light" through the center of the painting. Framing the farm with trees. Midday light creates smaller concentric circles around the subject and not cast. So you can get light through the center. It is also one reason I said not to use too much white because shadows and lights are closer together in value at the midday. 😀
Hello 😀
Hello 😊
Does painting is very Turner
Kinda has the feeling now that you mention it. Thanks!
