The Charismatic Voice was such a good choice to sing as Melenia. The goddess of rot is elegant, graceful, poised but also one of the most dangerous people in the room and this style really captures that. Love myself a badass disabled character and From seems to be very good at making them.
She really chose the character’s voice well-this isn’t her usual, lighter timbre, but it sure works for the character.

I love how the breakdown at 9:48 is timed to the Waterfowl Dance.
Love this song so much already! The vocal performance was ethereal and fit Malenia perfectly. On top of that the song is not just a good follow up on gav's other ER songs, flawless followup to his Radahn song, Scarlet Sky.

I'm not a gamer and know nothing of the games that Gavin writes for/about but that doesn't stop me from appreciating the beauty of his work. (Same applies to any of the game related songs I've heard by other creators on YT, like Jonathan Young's bard songs.) I love his work and Elizabeth's vocals fit so well with this! Love it!
I've always loved Malenia, and this song broke my heart. It really drives home how much agony she's in, agony she put herself in for her brother's sake, as well as how long she's suffered waiting for him. And yet she still manages to be one of the hardest bosses in the game.
Not gonna lie, my biggest disapointment about the dlc is that we most likely won't get to see Malenia and Radhan in their prime like so many people wanted. My only hope is that it will give us a way to save Malenia and reunite her with Miquella.
Funny enough that aggressive section is a direct reference to Scarlet Sky and is symbolic of Radahn vs Malenia. The heavyweight mike tyson general vs the lightweight champion and rot princess
Hello my young friend. Today, started to checkout reactions of Purest Gold. I follow Elizabeth with her vocal reactions. Love hearing the mechanics since I was a player, not a singer. I feel that voice should be instruments. Like my third band I support, Noa from Scardust. I always wanted to hear her voice. Think this gives you a great idea. I was, in my youth, a Clasically trained musician. Played all over and in the Army Band program for many years. Also, was a M1A1 tank commander. Sorry about your triggers. I've known many brother and sisters in Arms that have their triggers. Life can be painful both physically and mentally. You have a real nice radio voice. Loved the reaction. Peace. Stay safe. It’s damn nice to see the same emotions on a person’s face that I felt when listening to this beauty.
I'm a long-time fan of Miracle of Sound, especially his symphonic metal stuff, but even compared to his great track record in the genre, this goes extra hard!
Also, the mental preparation to see clips of the Malenia fight had me giggling. I haven't played Elden Ring (I suck at Dark Souls, so I never tried this one :p) but the battle scenes in the video (and in the video for The Rot by Aviators) have me obsessed with her. Everyone who has played Elden Ring seems to go "oh no" at the mere thought of that fight and I'm just here kicking my feet and smiling in admiration at the deadly artistry on display. That graceful, upsettingly agile movement speaks to me in a way I can't explain, I always love to see that in fantasy characters.
Like, she's shaped like a human, but big enough and strong enough to do that move where she tosses you up and impales you (cool as hell btw). And at first glance, her movement looks "normal" (as in physically possible) but superhumanly lithe and agile (like that leap at 7:46), but a closer look reveals something supernatural (see that glide at 9:17, it's the same move as the first but this time the camera's not moving with her so we see the arc she traces). And later when she gets the wings that seem to be made of fungus and butterflies, she sends out those swarm phantom things at 11:37 that glide like skaters on ice, kinda paralleling the way she moved before the wings. And the curved paths of her leaps also kinda hint at the fact that she's not exactly flightless, long before she ever pops out those wings.
(Typing out that description of "wings made of fungus and butterflies" makes it sound like a mythological detail that would get sanitized in the process of being adapted to fantasy, and I love that)
