I cry each time I watch the video. I've been a fan of the musical from more than 30 years but this is by far the best finale I've seen and heard
I watch it again and again and each time I feel a knot in my throat. I saw Hair alive in Buenos Aires when I was eighteen in 1971. It's unforgettable.
I've spent hours listening to many dozen UA-cam videos that cover this song - including the ones from the original cast, reunion casts, the movie, and ones being sold, as well as all of those from high schools, colleges, professionals in other countries, etc. - and this video still has the single best version for the part @2:22 to @2:55. The woman in the reddish/orange-ish coat is amazing. And when the duo starts, the other woman hits everything perfectly too, and there is perfect balance between lead and 'harmony'.
@2:22 to @2:55 Beautiful 30 seconds of music
"With supreme visions of lonely tunes"......brilliant
Wonderful, repeated this like 20 times now.
Given the sound quality and the multi-camera editing, this HAS to be available for purchase somewhere. I would love to see this cast's entire performance for the whole musical.
what a GREAT musical!
Good sounds. Thanks Berklee.
These guys ROCK!!!! I wanted to see more of this wonderful Dionne

Nice spirited performance true to the spirit of the original.

You're all so beautiful and especially you, black lady giving , right at the end, an unbelievable strength to this song by your voice and the soul you give. Thanks so much.

2:25 was the good part.
as America circles the drain, the song gets better.
