Love a good classic "Stupid man does something stupid cause he thinks it sounds cool" episode. The man from Do Not Open would be driven up the wall by this guy
Our king Joshua Gillespie
Nah Joshua Gillespie is too busy living his best life to be bothered by this guy’s own stupid decisions
Love how Joshua to this day is remembered as the smartest guy in the Magnus series
He'd definitely smack Tom on the head 😂
@@Matheus-ql7mn Well it's not like he had a lot of competition. Most of the other Statement givers either survived by pure chance or died a week after giving their statement, and he sure as hell was beating any of the main characters (except possibly Sasha, and even then she did willfully follow someone she knew for fact was a monster).
Collin: *skittering across the floor like a spider*

Crawling, muttering to himself and avoiding cameras? I'm with Lena on this one, it just seems like average IT guy behavior to me.
being IT Guy, can confirm, very normal, don't worry about it 👍
IS COLIN AWARE OF THE EYE?!?
Also, “its important we don’t keep secrets here” is such an Beholding line
My pet theory is that Colin suspects/is convinced that someone's watching them, but not in a 'haunted computer' way, but more mundane 'the government is spying on us' conspiracy theorist way.
no, that's just an IT thing
He was telling some recording device he knew it was listening and would find it before it turned itself off a few episodes ago
He accused a computer or camera of listening to him before he turned it off or disconnected it in I think episode 2?
That whole story really feel like those looney toons moments where the coyote charater makes a very visible and obvious trap and put up a "FREE CANDY DEFINETELY NOT A TRAP" sign next to it
To be fair, the guy did seem to have a bit of eye in him as well, he's really determined to see obscure horror movies, so it'd only make sense he'd do anything to see what is allegedly the most obscure and scariest of them all
[s1jon voice] ok so the popcorn was definitely drugged

S1 Jon: As usual, Martin was unhelpful about this case as well.
FUN FACT: This episode (the modern day stuff not the case) is set the day after Gerard Kaey's 36th birthday according to the Magnus Protocol ARG.
Gerry birthday :D I hope he got a lot of presents and is not dead or horribly undead

The statement/case here is really funny, if only for it being one of the first times I’ve seen a character in a horror story whose whole thing is being a horror superfan, but who walks right into a situation with every possible red flag for paranormal danger instead of avoiding it by virtue of knowing genre conventions
"A contest? For a FREE screening of a movie no one heard about? On a website that has been inactive for YEARS? And they sent the invite in a BLACK enveloppe? They somehow got my adress? And I'm all alone in the very obviously abandonned theatre? Excepted one elderly employee? Definetly not a trap!!"

Is that as Joker Kermit reference or does that come from somewhere else
It seems Jon narrates cases about the eye, Jonah Magnus narrates older cases, and Martin narrates general cases
Not just "general" cases, "Norris" seems to specifically read cases with some form of tragic love is involved which is. Fitting, to say the least
@silas-kingofw_e And Chester seems to specifically narrate statements about wanting to know
I thought it was leitner not jonah?
@dseray9494 We can't be sure yet but as they kept the same voices for Martin and Jon it's more likely it's Jonah here. Plus it makes more sense for him to be there as he died near Jon and Martin. Whereas Leitner died years before and was burried somewhere else

BABE WAKE UP, NEW OFFICE COMEDY PODCAST EPISODE HAS DROPPED!!!
“The Magnus Archives is a workplace comedy”
@@CasuallyUndead And they had an american(?) reboot, just like the office!
The old guy at the movie theater is giving me Simon Fairchild vibes. Obviously he’s not Vast aligned, like Simon, but he’s still a really old guy who seems happy and unusually spry, and who inflicts horrors on unsuspecting victims in eccentric ways.
I’m kind of here for it! Hope this wacky dude comes up again! At least he makes really good popcorn for you before inflicting unspeakable horrors upon your mind. How very considerate! 😁
I also feel like it’s not the same guy moving from one service place to another but rather clones of the same guy. I mean even if it’s Eye aligned it’s still a cinema hence a bit of the stranger could be there
My guess is the theater itself is the entity, and like an anglerfish, lures people in to feed. The old guy just manifests when needing to interact with the audience.
@@OctopusOwl Ooo! I like that idea a lot! 😃
Although, the Anglerfish lure wasn’t particularly sentient, just repeating the same phrase over and over; whereas the old man seemed to be quite responsive, answering Tom’s questions, serving him concessions, ushering him to his seat, etc.
So, if the theater is part of the entity, I imagine it would likely be more symbiotic, closer to The Distortion and its hallways. 😊
This guy really ignored a buffet of red flags to watch a movie. I wish I could say thats abnormal but I've met cinephiles and that checks out.
The Eye is at it again...but holy cheese, it seems to be taking a much more active approach this time around.
The scene with Gwen jump-scaring Alice has gotta be the next animated short on UA-cam, that was just too perfect 🤣
The statement was pretty good right up until the end, feels like it needed 1 or 2 more minutes, the abrupt ending left me feeling Babadooked.
"Thank you so much Xenophobia12220" gets me every time 😂
Apparently it's 'Cinephobia' according to the transcript? but I heard xenophobia as well and yeah that's a 10/10 made up internet username

Imagine it was normal and he wasn't alone there.
Imagine you go to an exclusive screening and there is some guy in the cinema, constantly speaking into his phone, text-to-speach-live-blogging the movie.
Gotta love the FAITH reference.
I’m seeing a lot of people claiming this episode reflects the eye, but I definitely get the stranger vibes from the end of the statement. Asking “Who the hell is that?” in response to seeing an old childhood video really highlights this I think.
I'm getting an (un)healthy mix of Eye and Stranger. Definitely Eye for Tom, Stranger for the theatre, & a mix of Eye (Voyeur I mean c'mon) and Stranger (the "who the hell is that" and the feeling he got replaced with "Voyeur needs to be seen to be believed. The scariest movie I have ever seen.") for the movie.
@@JustCallMeEmily oh definitely. It’s more of a mix than it is one or the other
I’m preferring to believe that “faith the unholy trilogy” is this alternate universe version of “faith the unholy trinity” and not a typo.
at 3:22 a weird sounds plays and immediately after the boss says " the problem will resolve itself'. i'm CONVINCED she did something there
Like, this was some good vague unease, but I feel like it got cut off before we hit any real horror. Like, all the deleted posts were kinda spooky, and so was the empty theater, but it cut before we got any real impact on the guy and all we really know was it was a video of him that had something that wasn't supposed to be there. Unsettling, yeah, but I have no idea the shape or scope of this fear.
Surely the eye is involved. The word “voyeur” refers to a kink where people enjoy watching others
@@alessiapalma8823Not necessary a kink, just anything with an observer.
I'm wondering if the cinema or film will come up again like Hill Top Road or Arthur Nolan's apartment block.
@@jazmineraymond7495 voyeur is French for "one who sees." similar to "watcher."
That's true but this one is the one that got me the most so far, the fact that it barely showed anything really made me feel involved in the horror
Alice talks to the computers like Martin used to talk to the tapes
So the tattooed German previous IT manager that Gwen was asking about at the end… that’s gotta be the guy she saw Lena threatening at the end of the last episode, right?
Since FR3-D1’s programming is based in a German source code (or however Colin phrased it in episode 1) did that guy program FR3-D1? Or was FR3-D1 already there, and he also discovered the truth about it, like Colin is in the process of now, and had to disappear for some reason?
Hmm… 🤔
Oooooooo I like this theory😆
Ohh this is a good theory. it would make sense. Though I don't think she _saw_ it? I think it was just an audio recording. or did I miss something :p
Yes it's surely is Klaus
@@CamilleChauTempsDesCerises pretty sure the transcripts name the person, for anyone who's wanting to know
@@Paperbag34 On the first listen I was immediately sure that she saw a video. On relisten, there's honestly no evidence one way or another. I think my conviction about the video mostly came from my own trouble with recognizing voices. The fact that Gwen immediately recognized Lena made me think she saw her on the screen, and her shoked "what the HELL?" was in response to watching Lena holding someone at a gunpoint (or similar scenario), rather than just hearing an ambiguous conversation.
Unoficcial transcript specificaly mentions video, but it is unofficial, so I'm not sure how trustworthy it is.
The good news is, this is too important a plotpoint to be left a mystery - we shall know, sooner or later.

Thursday is the best day of the week truly
real!
I used to like Fridays, but now..i think favoritism has shifted it's gaze onto Thursdays (in a spooky statement voice)
I consider Thursday to be the worst the day off the week but, thanks to TMGP, it is better now!
Thursday is when I play DND with my friends :] Thursday is my favorite day
Thisis exacly what I needed in the middle of my finals season on my university - some good old horror stress served by Rusty Quill, instead of constant panic attack of exams
Better the devil you ask for I guess?
I feel you there, Ive listened to the entirety of TMA and all of my worst nightmares were still about school 🫠
“That - now bear with me on this Sam, because I know you’re feeling emotional right now - is paper 😮 its made from trees ☺️”
LMAO
The guy is a fan of Horror. He finds out about a movie that nobody knows anything about. He enters a contest with only his name and gets a letter to his *house.* He finds the Theatre looks abandoned on the outside and is spookily well furnished on the inside. There is only one worker in the building. HE DIDN'T SEE A SINGLE RED FLAG THE ENTIRE TIME???
This may genuinely be the dumbest statement giver we've ever had.
To be fair, he's not a statement giver- he's a random blogger that the government owned computer system decided to invade the privacy of post-mortem (presumably post mortem, he could still be alive). But to be fair not many bloggers or vloggers tend to care about their own safety when views are involved
To be fair, bloggers/vloggers or any social media influencer are the worst when it comes to spotting red flags. They are also desperete for any content, and there's already been a few movies illustrating this like Incantation and Spree
He mentioned craving a movie that thrills him and the spooks commonly prey on vulnerabilities like that. They put out a bait he simply wasn't willing to ignore.
I agree with all the replies, and also it gets a lot different when you're actually there irl. We tend to trust ourselves less when convenience is involved. Abandoned on the outside, pristine on the inside equals old building with new renovations way more than it does supernatural fuckery. Exclusive personal film showing from sweepstakes equals these-directors-think-they're-the-shit-and-so-exclusive-and-important way more than murderer trying to kill you. I wouldn't really call the statement giver dumb, they're probably more like the rest of us than we'd like to believe.
Not only that, it's the same theatre he went to with his dad, presumably when he was a kid.. uh >_>
"I dont even remember giving them my address :D"
SIR NO-
Despite this statement guy being a conoseiour of horror - he sure had no problem accepting a strange invitation to a rundown theater with one only 'member of staff' LMAO
I’d do the same thing fr “oh boy they sent the prize right to my house!” I would never be heard from again
The instrumentals in these past few episodes have been just gorgeous, and I haven’t seen anyone else talking about them. The stuff when the movie started playing especially was really beautiful, been loving the instruments in the background so far. Great work guys!
The contents of the Faith review got deleted? That's unfortunate it's a great one
In the TMA, the Archives' staff was so unaware about what's going at the start (except Elias of course) but in the TMP, it feels like everyone knows something. Even Sam (and probably Alice before the transition as one of the kids had the same last name) was a part of the studies of gifted children in the Magnus Institute. Colin is already very interesting to me with the way he's trying to crack the code and is at least partially aware of the Eye
19:06 My theory so far is that Colin's predecessors had the same situation as Gertrude. The system might be so wrecked and confusing because it's supposed to be - just like how Jon complained about Gertrude being disorganised.
Wow:

I think the German it guy is the other voice with Lena and he figured out what was going on and then added that German code into Fr3-d1
It would baffle me at how clueless he was at all of the red flags, if it weren't for the fact he clearly didn't get the Babadook.
Its possible to get a movie, and still be disappointed. High expectations are difficult to live up to.
@@Badficwriter I suppose. But most people I know that didn't like the Babadook are the kind of people that are all, "I WANTED TO SEE THE MONSTER!" I’ve been here for episodes every week, and it will take another 42 years for me to not be scared by the opening music.
i'm seeing people say the "statement"-giver here is behaving like a horror movie character, but nobody else is thinking about the fact that it seems set up in a very deliberately Classical Horror Scenario way, and we have no actual guarantee that the blogger was even real. it's eye stuff, i honestly think there's a very solid chance that the "blogger" IS the manifestation (or avatar, who knows). the blog posts are formatted like they exist to tell a horror story to readers, and i guess you could interpret that as unusually cliched writing for rusty quill, but i'm more inclined to think the thing that's off is in-universe and not out of it. this dude was livestreaming it, and you don't stop to think that maybe the blog readers are the voyeurs here?
also, i'm gonna be honest, i love seeing really smart horror characters as much as the next horror fan, but have you, like, met... humans? real people are strikingly, astonishingly dumb more often than not. i still think odds are good that this statement giver IS the monster so to speak, but if not, it's reaaaally not hard for me to believe some random blogger is an idiot, because that describes most bloggers, seeing as bloggers are people and most people are idiots
oh that, that is genius.Like how it's him who has been broadcasting himself since he was 14 like so many us have, and how the whole episode was him not having a sense of privacy until the very end, with even a camera being there during what sounds like an incredibly intimate scene. It does become horryfying when you think og it like this
I really hope nothing horrible will happen to Colin. His character is funny and for some reason relatable for me
If anything happens to Colin I’m gonna do something that’ll create a 15th entity surrounding feet and buttholes
Love the “getting babadooked” bit, that was me too, added to the relatability of the narrator
I'm laughing so hard. Pretty much any woman would have noped out of there after the concession stand at the LATEST. When he went "Sitting alone in that dark and cool room is kinda cool" I just remembered that dropout sketch about going out men vs women.
Not sure how I feel about the ending of the blogger’s story. So the Voyeur just pops up in the home video his mother made for his brothers, and then that’s the end of the narrator?
well it seems that more happened, and that our mc just wasnt able to talk bcs of the pure horror inflicted upon them
When the film started I was thinking "oh yes here we go, the horror's starting!" then it's suddenly over? Very confused.
@@zypalitra8080well it’s likely that the voyeur took him over once he saw it properly, that’s why it ends abruptly
@@alessiapalma8823 Sure, but in other TMA stories he'd at least get a few more minutes into the film before something happened. It cuts just at the start of the movie at the worst moment.
The very last thing that happens is the narrator seeing an additional person in the footage. Someone was there at the time, watching. All the film did was reveal that fact.
This one had me particularly annoyed at Lena because I have gone to a boss about a co-worker that was going to snap. They were like it's fine and then he did snap and things were not fine

I’m wondering if TMP will ever confirm the presence of Jon, Martin, and Jonah as the computer voices. They might not, but I almost feel as if Colin’s whole arc with the system means they’ll have to eventually reveal that the computers are alive. Probably will be a later arc like the tapes in TMA.
I believe they must be real ppl but maybe they’re leading us with the voices into thinking they’re Jon, Martin and Jonah when not
@@imalittlelady I mean… in the trailer it says it’s initializing J1, M1, and J2. If they’re leading us on that’s a pretty stupid twist - considering literally all evidence points to it being Jon, Martin, and Jonah.
@@malaizze it’s bc of all the evidence leading to that that I’m getting suspicious
I have a feeling from comments made by Alexander J Newell and Jonny Sims that the series will be about if Jon/Chester, Martin/Norris, etc. are, in fact, people/alive: if something that is essentially an AI is a person.
1:23 Pre-case
5:54 Case (Unclear) [Blog: Chester]
18:10 Post-case
This one has truly stumped me. Initially I thought it may be the lonely, what with Tom ending up in the theatre alone, but the contents of the film itself doesn't really reflect that. Then I thought maybe the Spiral or the Stranger, considering that it seems to be an old memory but with something not right about it (the unknown person he saw at the end). But the word "voyeur" means someone who enjoys watching others suffer which could just mean an avatar or specifically an Archivist so this could be the Eye.
Maybe this is proof that the fears don't fit into the categories they used to but since we barely know what's going on here at all, it's hard to say.
@@elliesteele2027all the stories so far have been blurred, each one possibly belonging to two TMA fears. Because this is an alternative universe it’s completely possible the fear never “split” like they did in TMA.
@@FiendishAura438i mean they never split in tma, they were just split into categories by smirke but they were still the same thing, although these ones have felt more blended together than the og ones
@@xvx_cooldude69_xvx43 that was actually my point, and the reason I put split in quotes. My theory is that the fears are particularly based on perception. They will alway be fear, but if someone excepts the fear to be something in some way they will shift ever so slightly. So when smirke created categories to try and understand fear, it stretched just enough to “fit” it’s own “role”. Just my current theory though.
@@elliesteele2027 to me it’s pretty obvious that the eye is involved: the word voyeur like you said, the line “the voyeur needs to be SEEN to be believed”, also from the video it looks like the voyeur has been in the statement giver’s life from a long time, but he just watched without actually interfering with his life up until now. Not sure about other fears
Bro trash talked the Babadook, he deserved it
So does anybody else get the vibe that Sam filling out that Response Department paper is gonna bind him to the Watcher in some way? So far, none of these cases have had any real follow-up like in TMA. We hear the story, but never what happened after. It stays unresolved. I have a feeling that form is going to force Sam to actually look into these cases, and he wont be able to quit after.
He’s already begun. Remember he got flagged for trying to research the Magnus Institute and Protocol. He’s already been drawn in and this paperwork might just lock him in.
Like Jon, Sam is too curious for his damn good, I think. I also feel like he has some sort of past connection with what remains of the Magnus Institute in TMP universe.
The system is an electronic archive. Sam is literally doing the filing or classifying that the assistants did previously. The follow-up and investigation of the statements were a ruse to justify their being taken and archived in the first place.
The person in the statement really reminds me of the youtuber Pastra... even mentions a few of the same obscure horror movies that they've covered.
Fellow Pastra enjoyer! Nice to see someone else around here like me (:

Did the popcorn take this guys memories and put them in the movie?? Sigh i love demon popcorn
"Let's just say that most of them aren't horror"
Me: "oh I wonder wh-- OH WAIT PFFT--"
This compatition thing is strongly reminding me of The Circus of the Other.... "Submit your name and maybe you'll win" and all that...
lena.. lena…… colin……….jon-i meAN CHHHeSter
This one really got to me. Damn.
thank you rusty quill for this wonderful meal
Wonder how long before Colin gets more violently victimized by the Eye and/or Spiral....
The spEYEral, if you will?
FAITH MENTION!
Someone needs to get wendigoon onto TMA, its right in his wheelhouse
Heck yeah they do
Amazing
We need this
Omg a wendigoon video about TMA would make my life complete
THE WAY MY EYES WIDENED WHEN I HEARD IT (i absolutely agree with you)
theres an episode of are you scared from the watcher that this episode reminds me of which is really fun considering rusty quill did a collab w them
Got to say the production on this series is fucking tight, love the change from tape to pensioner PC
This statement had a much subtler brand of horror than previous episodes, but I liked it a lot. The way it's kind of obvious from the beginning where the plot is going but the horror still manages to slowly build and creep in on you until the final reveal gives you chills. Very nice
Theres that response department thing I was worried about again...
Also wonder if alice knows more about the response team, she's kinda,,,, what's the word,, like. Flippant? Dismissive? About it?
And I wonder why SHE didn't throw them out if shes so sure it's nothing. Although maybe that's illegal idk.
Then on the flip side, maybe its SAM that knows exactly what it is and hes just good at making it look like an accident. Maybe hes looking for an excuse to go out and investigate. I am going nowhere with this train of thought fyi
the TMAGP comments section just makes me feel part of something without having to worry about the... idk masking? Performing? Social etiquette?
What I'm saying is I like spewing my thoughts into the void for some kind of vague sense of social interaction
WOW this got off topic
i agree about the etiquette thing haha, it’s nice to see the same folks under every episode just talking about it
LETS [censored] GOOO🥳🥳
Lena is Totally an avatar of the eye “it’s important we don’t keep secrets here”
How long till something dreadful befalls Alice's brother? They're establishing the hell out of him. 😉
Damn that might be my favorite episode of this yet. Very very good I think it got me because of how much I relate to Tim. Amazing
for such a horror fan this person made some of dumb decisions like a true horror protagonist
Holy shit the faith: unholy trinity reference threw me off so hard
first time watcher, a curious Idea, if this is an alternate universe, perhaps the entities are populating the history, and the computer is detecting temporal anomalies.
something like Neil Gaiman sandman specially the dream of a 1000 cats.
as john would (probably) say, when they set their sites on world, it isnt an invasion or a drastic change, it will simply Be, it will become like they were always been their. reality will fold under that pressure
Are Chester and Norris starting to *communicate*?! Chester was trying to grab Sam's attention and Norris answered Alice at the end!
For some reason Chester being like ‘hey.. hey sammy! I have a statement! Listen to me read it?’ Is like so cute😭🥰
6:05 that’s like the most ‘Jonny’ thing to say
