SOP is a good way to get clarity on your own goals. But GRE is the key to top schools. It clears the problem of comparing grades from different universities and allows the admission committee to compare American and foreign students

Congrats man but u kinda seem like an overachiever haha. I just had 4 internships one project and decent acads and extracurriculars and got admits in most of these colleges and some even better (i only applied to some of the common ones). What baffles me more is why you’d choose columbia over gatech and cornell. :o
What ever you are doing is fantastic but you can also make videos about more generic profiles which will give everyone a boost, just like a guy with many arrears and got several admits.. Also many who have a general profile and got into a good job or something like that.. Hoping soon 😀

Not always, if you have a startup kind of thing or a great achievement in your profile which has a lots of users it will play a major role in your application if your grades are not topnotch or an average grades.

Lol, it's difficult to get above 300 you know. It takes hard work and intelligence to score high in GRE. People like me and You aren't that hard working and intelligent hence it is almost biased
I have similar profile. CGPA: 3.6 (equivalent to 8.8), Overall 8 in IELTS GRE: 319 3 Research Articles 8-9 projects 50+ International, National and Regional Prize for projects, posters, writings, sports etc. Applying this year & I'm super nervous 😑 not confident about my admission at all.

@@daliabiswas1703 Who ever wants pursue Non Stem Major in US, they will be given only 1 year of OPT in this period you can apply for H1B through the lottery but only one time a year, there are less chances of getting selected for H1b in one go right ? Stem Major students will have 3 years of OPT, it proves chances of getting H1B visa is valid for 3 years in this final year you have to extend it to get another 3 years need if you have 2 years of work exp+ in US then you are eligible for EB3 Green Card it takes decades to get, hope it helps.

Yes it is possible first, green card can be granted on the basis of an EB-1A Alien of extraordinary ability and there are many legal ways to get US citizenship.

He said he worked for some confidential research,they want only US citizen for that research and he was lucky to file a case ,get citizenship..I had a doubt who would appoint if he is not a US citizen

I cant believe he wrote a 2.5 page lengthy SOP and still got in. Aren't SOPs suppose to be much shorter than that?
Honestly just make sure you do justice to yourself. If your 1000+ words SOP tells a compelling story, it's worth it.

He definitely got the admit because of the CGPA. a good CGPA decides 60% of ur chances if you aren’t sending your GRE.
