I just got this model installed and running the first load now. It’s so quiet I had to go check to see if it was working! By the way, dishwasher life is about ten years.
Ours just bit the dust after only 3 years. The pump and pump filter got fried. The parts are more than the cost of a new dishwasher. Such a shame too. It was so quiet, washed fantastic, and looked great. I never realized dishwasher parts are so expensive. Maybe we just got a lemon. Our Maytag refrigerator is just over 16 years old and has never given us a hint of a problem. Tempted to replace it with the same one, now that it is $110 less than what we purchased our current one for. It was also unfortunate that we forgot to send in the warranty card for it. Live and learn.
I installed this Maytag last month and like others noticed an electrical hum when going through the cycles. The hum or buzz has diminished over time but this dishwasher makes more noise than the 25-year-old Kenmore it replaced. Compared to the Kenmore, the Maytag's insulation is a joke and I could tell the plastic parts throughout the unit are quite flimsy. So far so good but I doubt this Maytag will last as long as the tried-and-true Kenmore.
Bought this dishwasher in february, 2023 and the front panel begin to rust at the bottom. Be aware that the front panel is not stainless steel. In fact, the front panel is made with regular steel sheet covered with a thin plastic layer. This plastic layer act as protective layer to protect against finger print and the air contact. If air get in contact with an exposed part(without plastic) of the front panel, rust begin. That's what happend to mine 9 month after purchase. Do not expect much help from customer service because they say it is not covered under the waranty. The issue have to be reported to Maytag within 30 days after purchase to get lucky with the waranty. So I am stuck with a dishwasher that the plastic layer will peel off and will get rusty over time. Last thing, on the Maytag web site, It is clearly mentionned that the front panel is stainless. Real stainless don't rust like this. The tub seem to be stainless but not the front panel.
OMG, this is so annoying! It is happening with mine too! I bought it in July 2022, and now, in December 2023, it has gotten much worse. I was about to go crazy on it and remove all that thin plastic piece to see if it was something that was supposed to be removed, but it was left there by mistake. Looks like it's a quality issue then! Did you do anything with yours?
@@ambermaddux9465 The warranty cover this issue for a maximum of 30 days after the date I bought it !!! And do not expect anything from the custumer service. They will refer you to the warranty booklet. Again, false information about this product :(
I don't have any stainless steel appliances, but I was just looking at a video on a channel called Everything Under the Roof. Apparently, "stainless steel" appliances have this rust problem, but the rust can be cleaned off with a paste of baking soda and then polished. Makes them look new. So she said.
@@plussayfdon mine has been fine. We just make sure we click the heated dry and then once complete open the door and let it air dry. You could wipe the door down after completion as well then let all the rest air dry. We have not seen any mold. Best of luck!
It is kind of hard to see on the control panel, when you make your wash selection and then dry selecting, at the top of the Heated Dry you press for short or long dry, you will see the light indicator of your selection, if you do not have an issue of"energy" usage, select long and this "should" help rid moisture.
A lot of reviews say that the plastic pieces tend to break after 2-3 years and they are not covered by the warranty. Anyone had that issue? Should I get a Bosch instead?
I just realized I can place plastic plates on the top. Everything fits perfectly. I absolutely love this dishwasher. I'm sorry it's not working for you but I love it. Definitely different putting plates on top but wow.
Dishwasher being made are terrible across the board, some one had to say it. About to be on my 3rd on in the 10 years. Parts will cost much as the Dishwasher

Oh, no. I was hoping Maytag was more reliable. Sad!

It says 10 year warranty? Why was yours not covered or did yours not say that?

Mine dishes come out wet, even with heated dry.
Didn't mention delay feature, control lock feature or testing install(self diagnostic) feature.
What is the control lock feature? Thanks in advance.

Does everything come out dry?
I find it horrible to load compared to my old one. It seems nothing fits right specially on top rack

How do you adjust the top rack? It is too low and the spinner hit my dishes and stop running.
That was my question when I just ordered mine yesterday. The Salesman said you can't adjust it.
I just found out it's not adjustable. However, large dishes fit just fine on the top rack. Including large plastic plates.

I just installed mine its making a comstant buzzing noise on operation did this happen to you on first and second runs and did it go away with use?
Can you record it operating so I can compare?
The buzzing is the bees from the factory.
I'm getting the same buzzing sound on operation on my first run after install as well. Did you ever find an answer to this?
I’m having the buzzing sound too. Anyone figure this out?
I am also having a buzzing noise....
can you delay the start time with this dishwasher?
Yes
