I heard that bone should be used only on soil with pH below 7.0. Is this right? And if your soil is above 7.0, can you top-dress with something below 7.0 and add bone to the top-dressing?
Seems a good choice, because bone meal is alkaline. High pH can be an issue, another easy way could be using Compost along with bone Meal, this will neutralize the pH. It can be used on any soil Mix, & yes it could be risky for if the pH is below! Happy Gardening 😊

It's roasted bone dust, that's why it's white powdery in appearance. Some brands have a raw form that is in slightly yellowish in color & it's semi powdered. So whatever you use make sure it's bone meal. Happy Gardening 😊
