This lecture was delivered at the University of Geneva on March 17, 1987.
Sheikh Ahmed Deedat:
In 1986, the King Faisal Foundation awarded the King Faisal International Prize for SERVICE TO ISLAM, to a South African who is more or better known than many dignitaries in their own countries. This was the first time that this prestigious award has been awarded to a South African. The recipient of this award was a man totally dedicated to his faith and its propagation and who was not afraid to challenge any one to a debate to settle once and for all the matter, who has the good news right? He was none other than Sheikh Ahmed Deedat, reverently known and called UNCLE by those who hold him in high esteem and admiration.
The award came after a lifetime of struggle to propagate Islam and to defend Islam against the onslaught of the missionaries. Finally, he was given recognition by the international Muslim community that he deserved and focused more sharply the attention of the Muslim world on the most important aspect of his work, the challenge to propagate Islam. This was his life long ambition to focus the Muslim world's attention and resources on the propagation of Islam, and at last he succeeded. What a moment of jubilation, achievement and personal gratification for Sheikh Deedat the award was, a turning point in his life.
Sheikh Deedat did not have much formal schooling, but he was self-taught through experience and a penchant for reading, debating, discussion, and a profound sense of commitment to a mission and goal. He was driven and goal oriented. He was focused and never let up until the job was done. He was sharp, perceptive, forthright, fiery, and daring in his challenge of those whom he debated, particularly against those who equal his missionary zeal and sense of audacity. Formal schooling did not destroy his creative prowess, his tenacity, ambition, drive, and sheer daring to swim upstream.
Sheikh Deedat was more a scholar of the Bible than the Qur'an, and was more familiar and adroit with its teachings. He had an insight and perspective of the Bible which made many Christians he came into contact with rethink and re-examine their faith, particularly those aspects of the Bible and the Qur'an that deal with the divine mission and life of Prophet Jesus.
On May 3, 1996, Sheikh Ahmed Deedat suffered a stroke which left him paralyzed from the neck down, and also meant that he could no longer speak or swallow. He was flown to a hospital in Riyadh, where he was taught to communicate through a series of eye-movements. He spent the last nine years of his life in a bed in his home in Verulam, South Africa, encouraging people to engage in da'wah. He continued to receive hundreds of letters of support from around the world. During these years, rumors spread throughout the Internet that he was already dead, and even some websites that contained his pamphlets mentioned as early as 2002 that he was dead.
On August 8, 2005, Ahmed Deedat finally succumbed to his prolonged illness and died at his home in Trevennen Road, Verulam in the province of KwaZulu Natal.

Allah says in Qur'an that they neither killed him nor crucified him, but it was made to appear so unto them. In many places in Qur'an, it has been mentioned that Jews used to kill the prophets unjustly. But in the case of Jesus (pbuh) it vehemently denies that they killed him or that they crucified him. This is because Qur'an will not contain anything except truth.

ironic he talks about "turning the other cheek." Deedat smacked some professor once in front of a muslim crowd, and told him to turn the other cheek. The professor did. Deedat, not knowing what to do next, embarrassed perhaps somewhat then told the Prof to "drop his trousers"; the Prof did (after apologizing to the crowd, some his students). Deedat just scoffed and waved him away from the podium. Next day was a long line of muslims outside the Prof's office door, to apologize & some convert.

Islam is دين الله (Way of Life given by Allah). How mankind should live in this world. It is not made by Muslim. It has it's root in Qur'an and authentic حدیث (sayings of Prophet) Therefore Islamic laws are better than any other law of the world.
Problem of Europe is that it does not understand this very important fact. They think that theirs law is better than Islamic law.
Almighty Allah says :
The revelation of the Book is from Allah,the Mighty, the Wise.
Lo! We have revealed the Book unto them (Mohammad) with truth; so worship Allah,making the Deen pure for Him (only).
Surely pure Deen is for Allah only

Kindly make your mind clear that the the mankind is created by Almighty Allah -- the Master Creator.
We have to study and research the Holy Qur'an sincerely. It is in broader interests of humankind.
Follow Islam to make your life better in this world and in the life of Hereafter.

@@lib25 Deedat corrupts what the Trinity is and does not comprehend it. He tries to limit what God is or does or can do. An omnipotent being can be anywhere at any time and do whatever it wishes. Didn't God appear as a burning bush to Moses ?. Deedat does not get the truth , he never ever debated a Hebrew scholar as his Hebrew was poor. He was not such a good muslim and was criticised by his own colleagues in South Africa for the way he was demeaning about women.

Deedat never Said God is not everywhere .of course God almighty is everywhere snd deedat preaches that ! Besides that the great scholar haven't once criticized women .
He preaches everything the Quran says including the great role mothers play in Islam . Even the surah mariam has a whole chapter named in her honor.
As for deedat is is no other scholar of any faith that can compare with him.

For example the mighty creator is physically flawed but yet he created the entire world and everything un it to perfection . The fact that people don't ponder their statements is very sad and due to that you are being pushed further away from the truth .

Jesus (pbuh) never claimed to be God. Not a single unequivocal statement mentioned in entire bible says Jesus (pbuh) is God or he says worship me. Its a fact and no Christian is able to prove it rather its all beating around the bush. Its all assumption and not facts and blind theories only works in Paul book.
