- The beautiful "Wunderbike" celebrated its world premiere at the BMW Motorrad Days 2019 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
The special edition model was developed as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations for the legendary /5 series that made its debut in 1969. The all-new R nineT /5 combines the iconic design of this time with today's innovative technology. We think the results are impressive.

Wir wollen die T5 auch im naechstes Jahr... und das Jahr danach... und danach! Ich habe schon die R nine T beliebaeugelt, allerdings habe ich keine wirkliche Kaufentscheidung zu diesem Zeitpunkt. Da hat noch was in meinem Herz gefehlt um mein Konto komplett dafuer zu pluendern, als ehemaliger R65, K75 und R850 Fahrer! Alle anderen R nine T Modelle, inklusive der Pure beruehren mich nun nicht so. Ich hatte mich schon gewundert warum BMW nicht die R7 auf der R nine T Plattform gebaut hat. Da hat sich Moto Nostalgica wirklich ins Zeug gelegt und ich hatte gehofft das BMW das Himmelstor hier sieht. Schade das ihr da nicht mit eingestiegen sind und meiner Meinung nach ist die R18 ein wenig zu viel des Guten und das fehlen eines R nineT/R7 Modells unverzeihlich. Allerdings.... Die T5 ist wunderschoen geworden und koennte meine Garage in naher Zukunft bereichern. Schade das sie nicht zum Jahresanfang oder dem Seasonbeginn herausgekommen war, oder ich haette doch schon eine, anstelle des jetzigen Motorrades. Nun bleibt nur noch zu hoffen, das sich BMW entschliesst die T5 als Dauermodell herauszubringen... mit nem 51 Jahre badging, und nem 52, etc... und Ihr Euch dumm und daemlich verdient... Lol. Gut gemacht BMW! Dem Klassischen T5 Model voll gerecht!

I've ..heard.. that if you get the pipes ceramic coated when new, they stay shiny.
Having owned an original LWB /5, I wish this one was made with twin pipes, one on each side.
Will be a 3K option.

They need to proportion it like a /5 was. The r9t has bars too low and pegs too high. The US bar /5 had perfect ergonomics.

The tank makes the bike look like a bull dog, big head small body, out of proportion.
Like the bike,it just doesn’t fit.
