About the 41st Anniversary of June 4. Former coup maker Sgt Akatapore writes against JJ. But is he the one to write about JJ? Is he not an accomplice to JJ’s illegal action on 31 st Dec 1981? Paul, the crux of Akataporis issue is about Governments stealing national assets, selling them cheaply and rewarding themselves and that's why he picked up a gun to fight. I know you don't like Nkrumaiists but their argument is no right wing government or leader has done anything close to what he did and they are right. This is an issue of ideologies, there is absolutely no need to deride Akataporis opinions because he's a socialist. I am against coups in Ghana and I knew Col Collison of Recce personally, his kids are still my friends so I hated that coup because it changed my life for the worse but coup leaders like Rawlings lie to other ranks about ideologies, promise them their kids will experience good and equal education and social life, get into power and turn their back on them. That can easily happen again so these issues should be highlighted. All these lands and national assets stolen do need to be investigated not swept under the carpet because Akatapori himself is guilty of treason. Sometimes the best intelligence you can get is from accomplices

Paul, you are speaking for yourself not for Ghanaians. Allow us to judge the letter ourselves and please don't steer us, to your personal leanings. Moderate from the centre, neither from the left nor right. You cannot practice this type of journalism here in the UK. You've been to my house before, so I have personally met with you but I can't say that about Akatapore, so I'm not trying to be biased at all. You've disrespected the man and you, should rather apologise to him for your behaviour as a renowned journalist. Shame Paul! I'm very disappointment in your reaction to the letter. You just couldn't hide you resentments towards the man.
Paul I agree with u to a very large extent but totally disagree with the assertion that it is Rawlings and Boakye Gyan and co who have earned the right to talk abt June 4 because they were in the thick of it. On the contrary, these people have for so my any years had the platform and opportunities to talk abt the June 4th story in their own way to glorify their acts and make themselves heroes. They have made Ghanaians believe the story in the way they want it be told. I think deferring opinions should rather be encouraged if we want the hard truth abt that event to be told for the sake of posterity.
I guess Akata-Pore meant Sgt Awal who was also killed during 1983 abortive coup by Carlos Alidu Giwa
