Even black comes in different "hues".... sometimes I feel black pieces don't "match" if that makes sense, because they aren't the same black... so I think adding white or cream to the mix makes it easier while being just as minimal.
My capsule wardrobe is filled with black clothes, socks and underwear and I'll never go back. The black color is not dirty, always elegant and versatile. In addition, no one has ever made a comment to me and yet I have always been dressed in black since 10 years now! 🖤🖤🖤
Good challenge 😎 can't wait to see your outfits! 🖤 black looks elegant and fits with every situation so I'm sure it will be easier to wear it 🖤 Love the jacket!! 🤩 Have a good day! 🐦⬛🐦⬛🖤
I like colours but do have lot black too it hides a multitude of sins lol 😆 ,excellent you feed wee 🐦 🐦⬛ 🦜 birdies I do ,yes lots pigeons, but also crows and magpies and some foxes also .have a great weekend 🍄
All black is definitely simple and easy for getting dressed. With the right pairings, you can definitely elevate most black outfits for a dressier occasion. The right jewelry and shoes for example can turn a daily outfit into a nice dinner one.
Aw i loved hearing your raven friend and glad to see you get that black jacket. It looks cozy but nice. And im amazed youve managed with just your pategonia pullover in your climate.
For black clothes, I really recommend the edge minimalist YTer. Usually leather, fur, various styles of trousers and shirts/tees/vests and a skirt or short in different textiles works well. If I didn't have a toddler, I'd wear fake leather more.
Working my way into an all black or at least almost all black wardrobe as items wear out. Also, you looked very beautiful in the black top and coat. It suited your skin tone and hair color very well.
I think this will be a great experiment. My minimalist wardrobe is only black and beige. The only colours are my red high top Converse, my backpack and a couple of bum bags.
@@SagelifeMinimalismThe good thing about a monochromatic black outfit is that you look kinda “put together “ even if it’s only a jeans and T-shirt. And since I add a pop of colour with my trainers or with my bag, I don’t have the feeling I’m always wearing the same thing. Additionally, in the odd cases I have an event or have to go to the office, an all black outfit of a T-shirt or jumper and jeans doesn’t look bad and people don’t really notice how “casual “ it really is
I think I have 1 vest, 2 tshirts and 2 long sleeve thermals. Then 3 jumpers, 1 'work' flares, 2 gym flares, 1 'period/gym/swim' shorts and 1 runner shorts. And 2 pj bottoms that id rather were trackies. Doesnt include coats or outerwear or underwear or accessories or bags or shoes.
In my experiments with ultra-minimalist wardobes, at this time of year (late winter/early spring in Switzerland), I‘ve found I like to have tops with different sleeve lengths (short, 3/4, long) that I can also layer, plus I found all black to be depressing (for me!) around my face. My most successful combo involved a light cotton tunic in greys, black and cream that took me from not-too-formal birthdays to a funeral and was light enough for a warm March day but layered well for the chilly January days. I only had one pair of dark grey jeans and my tops were cream and the light green you also enjoy. I did 40 days/6weeks with this one and even after it was finished I kept on wearing those things… Really mourned that tunic and still haven‘t found a good alternative! Oh well. Good luck with your challenge I‘ll be interested in your results, 10 items gives you options 👍
Good morning ! I think black really suits you!!! Personally I love black, it’s so classy and in fact no need to think!!! Your jacket is great! where did you find it? I can't wait to see the rest of your wardrobe!! Beautiful day!🤩🤩🤩
Thank You, I save anything now that is not absolutely related to minimalism for my second channel. Whenever I’ve tried to do it over here on this channel, it goes down like a lead balloon🎈😂 On My other channel I recently did a grocery shop for when you’re on a budget. Also previously on this channel I did a what I spend in a week. Which sort of covered food a little bit. 😊
@SagelifeMinimalism I didnt know you had a second channel! I have to have a look😊 I love watching your videos because they inspire me. I used to be quite a slim person, but I got married 10 years ago to a professional cook😅 and i put 7 kgs and I am really not happy like this, as I age I find it very hard to lose weight, so I try to motivate myself by what other people do and eat, thank you!
Like you, one outfit wouldn't work for me either, for one thing I'm clumsy and seem to get a stain on my top in particular almost every day, lol! The idea really intrigues me though. I found a channel called Lost Yet Free where the creator travels with just a bumbag. He only did a few videos, the last one was 5 years ago so think he probably had to stop due to the worldwide shutdowns at the time. He hasn't picked it back up again but I really enjoyed watching what he did do, the idea of travelling with just a bumbag and the clothes on my back is very appealing and seems like it would be very freeing, although he definitely had some challenges. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to this challenge and seeing how it turns out!
Hi Lydia I have an all black wardrobe I’ve had it for over 20 yrs no one has ever questioned me as to why I only wear black it is mixed with 4 bottoms 1 black jean 1 dark blue Jean and 1 medium blue jeans 1 black dress pant all tops are black about 7 because I perspire too add a black blazer and you are ready for anything I like that it can all go in one load of laundry all my underwear socks and nightwear is also black I have tried to wear colour and I just don’t feel like me I put it on then it comes off right away
@@petravazanska5707 Maybe it doesn’t suit your complexion? I have a deep winter complexion, and black suits me very well, but so do pine green, cherry red, and raspberry. I think it’s a shame when people only wear black, especially when it doesn’t suit them and there are so many beautiful colors that would look great on them. Personally, I’ve created a capsule wardrobe with winter colors, and it works wonderfully. Maybe you should find the colors that suit your complexion too?
If you decide to use RIT dye, consider using their Color Stay formula (look up a tutorial because when i did it I did it wrong and my item came out faded anyway). Best of luck! I can't wait to see the results of this challenge!!!
🖤 Hi! I only wear all black as well. I created my own work “uniform” - 5 identical black blazers, 5 identical black shirts, 5 identical black slacks and 5 identical black dress shoes. I wear one “uniform”daily. It’s become my “brand” for yearssssss and for Halloween last year my coworkers alllll dressed up as me. It was hysterical and touching at the same time. On my free time I also created my own “uniform” in all black - 3 identical hoodies, 3 identical tank tops, 3 identical shorts, 3 identical long sleeve shirts and 3 identical pants, black shoes and sandals. No decisions to make, and I get to wear my favorite clothes daily! Think of it this way - does anyone care that their favorite cartoon characters or superheroes wear the same outfit every time we see them? No. Never. 🖤
What about underwear (bras, underpants, socks) or pajamas? Since you are not counting your new coat is it the same with the underthings and pj's? I'm excited to see how this experiment turns out and what items might come into or leave your wardrobe during and after. Blessings to you.
Yes 😊 I’ve not counted underwear etc. also I don’t actually own pjs 😊. I tend to sleep in nothing. Or if it’s exceptionally cold I borrow a t shirt of my partners. But we have 2 duvets and an electric blanket to combat the cold so we’re not cold in our bed very often 🥶😊
Question: does undies, bras and socks not count in for a minimalist wardrobe? And if socks do count, are they counted separately or as a pair? Doesn’t has to be a question for extreme minimalism, just „plain“ minimalism would be fine too. (I currently am rotating 3 outfits consisting of 2 black joggers, 3 black heattech longshirts [2 with round neck and one with turtleneck], 3 tops/vests [green, blue and neonyellow/green], 3 black pairs of socks and 3 black bras. So far i was asked 5 times if i lost weight xD)
I think in general when people are just talking about their wardrobe they don’t count their underwear or outerwear in that amount. I’d definitely classify socks as one pair since usually we wear them together. 😊 🧦
The idea of this minimalist one colour is fantastic only that you light contrast personalised so black don't look good on you . Your colours look fantastic on you but black isn't working. For the experiment is fantastic so I am excited to see it
In your opinion of course. In hair colour theory contrast is good. So light hair suits dark (black). Black hair suits light colours. So there is always hair colour as well as skin colour to consider. Which I think some people forget. Also not just skin colour but undertones that aren’t always visible on camera. Lighting can dramatically change tones.
I completely agree with you; in color analysis, black doesn’t suit her or tends to camouflage her. I’m brunette with fair skin, and black suits me best. I’ve tried white, but black brightens my face. Even those around me agree. That doesn’t mean I only dress in black. If autumn colors suited me better, I’d wear brown-it’s such a beautiful color, but it doesn’t suit me at all 🤣.
It is not good for sustainably to run the washing machine every couple of day for a few items. I would have more under layers. Yes, you do look good in black!
Even black comes in different "hues".... sometimes I feel black pieces don't "match" if that makes sense, because they aren't the same black... so I think adding white or cream to the mix makes it easier while being just as minimal.
I wear black exclusively. I switch it up with texture, materials, and different shoes. I love it 🖤🖤
Thank You ☺️ 🖤
I wore only black in the late 90’s for years. I did get tired of it eventually, but it was so easy!
