Nice job, it’s important to note when measuring out distances on the board, you need to use the outside edge of the bit, not the exact center of the router hole. You did that, but many over see that simple step
Thanks Elysia you've made it so uncomplicated. I've just bought an American Oak table top ( round) too big. I can't get any one interested in cutting it down. I'm going to try myself. Thank you
So I bought a used router with a table on Marketplace. It is so big and intimidating! I watched this video and ran out to buy the palm router like yours - much better! Today I finally made the jig and just in time as I have a paint party and need 6 circles in just a few days. Thank you, thank you, thank you for making this video!
Hi Elysia. I have recently taken up working with a wood lathe and needed a jig for my router so that I could cut a circle in order to make a sanding wheel for the lathe. I found your video and was able to quickly and easily make the jig. It worked perfectly. Thank you so very much for posting your video. Great work!
At 46 years old I got bit by the woodworking bug. I took down my golf simulator in my garage and started buying tools. This video was AMAZING!! I literally just made my first circle. Lol. Thank you so much. I’ll now stalk your channel for other gems. Maybe even make my bride something special!!
Congrats, woodworking is awesome. I'm the same and started my channel at a slightly older age and have several easy to follow inspiring builds. Good luck!
I am thrilled to find your UA-cams. I have been wishing to continue learning to use my routers. A couple decades ago I started using them but got distracted and am now going back through all my books. But your teaching method is fantastic. I got more out of watching two of your productions than an hour of studying books with pictures. Thank you I will keep watching.
Brilliant! I needed a round 20” board to make a balance board for physical therapy on my ankle. My prior attempts were never round. This will work great! You are so talented young lady and thank you so much.
Hi there from Ohio USA!!! Your channel is totally awesome. Thanks for all the tips and tricks. Thanks for encouraging all us wood working woman!!!! Keep up the great job!!!
Nice and simple with no extra hardware to buy for "features" no one is ever going to use. I would suggest one addition that only requires drilling extra holes. If pick a bushing that you will always use with the jig you can make a second set of holes measured from the other side of the bit and add the offset of the bushing to create a pattern. If you put a hole for instance between the five and six inch mark (whatever the actual measurements turned out to be) you would get a circle bigger than ten inches but we're not interested in the circle in this case. The hole you just made with the alternate measurement will now make perfectly sized ten inch holes if you put the bushing on the router and run it along the inside of the circle. You'll get your ten inch circle except this time it won't have a hole in the middle. The kind of decorations you showed at the end of the video the hole won't matter but say you wanted to make a lid for a round box or something you don't want a hole in the middle of.
Awesome solution for sure. Another tip is putting a hook on the ceiling and hanging your cord on it. It's also super awesome to use upside down clamping or securing it down and then you can turn the wood instead of your router so you don't have to worry about the cord. Good luck on your builds.
Hello, GREAT VIDEO!!!! Now can u make that same circle in a piece of wood with a "Lip" on the inside of the circle so I can drop my router in with the round plexiglass plate attached to the router, so it sits on the lip... 🤣🤣🤣 👀🙏🏾
Good afternoon,I have 10 table tops to make so I was looking for a jig to do them faster and I find your jig, i made the jig today and in 20 minutes i had all top cut out thank you so much for sharing your ideas
ok seriously i watched like 40 videos of guys mansplaining this process and it took you ten minutes and was way easier to understand !! i will be making a jig this week
I just happened to come across this video while looking for something else. I am definitely gonna try this jig. Can you tell me what router bit you used? Thank you, very helpful.
Thank you for Such a simple tutorial that doesnt require buying hardware or gluing anything to the router. Excellent job! I love your wood working videos ❤
Thank You for the great video and information. I just orders a plunge router online. I know nothing about the bits. I intend to make a large circle with 3/4" plywood. Is there a particular bit that you would use? Any help would be great. Again Thank You.
New sub. When you measured from the bit why didn’t you choose to make a mark on the board with router doing it’s thing and measuring from the hole on board? Looking forward to learning some things here.
New to your channel!! Great video!! I am planning to make a jig like this myself but just not sure what you mean at the 5:20 mark of this video where you say to "make sure your blade is sitting up from the board"...if it is raised up off the board how does it cut through into the wood? I can see you dropping the blade as you go through the cut, but why do you initially say to keep the blade up from the board?

That was awesome!!! Im very new to this and trying to make a clock. Thank you this video really helped!
GIRL POWER! Thank you, for making this simple, cut and dry! You saved me $93.00's
By far the easiest circle jig I’ve seen- thank you!!
Thanks Elysia you've made it so uncomplicated. I've just bought an American Oak table top ( round) too big. I can't get any one interested in cutting it down. I'm going to try myself. Thank you
Best jig video so far...eliminates all the excess steps and "KISS" for a down to earth jig
thank you that very simple

Good Job...did not feel like spending 60 bucks on the Rockler version...
Thank you for Such a simple tutorial that doesnt require buying hardware or gluing anything to the router. Excellent job! I love your wood working videos ❤
Can you do a workshop tour and also maybe a video on how you keep it clean and manage dust. Your space looks really clean compared to mine :p
Wow. That was very good. You do a great job explaining the details. Nice job!
This was super helpful. I'm having trouble finding wood circles to make signs so I'm going to start cutting my own with your method. Thank you!
Awesome. I like the ease of this. I have a one-time project where I'll need to circles of 4 different sizes. This the jig I'll be making. Thanks
Great skill. Great job!
Thanks for sharing
mighty fine , girl
I like your video, easy to follow thank you.
Drexel looks like a sewing machine.
Genius!
‼️❤️❤️❤️ love it❤️❤️❤️‼️
Great video
Interesting, I wonder if would I be able to do this with a rotary tool with the router tool attachment.
Please lower the music, it is much louder than your voice. Great idea and we will be making one, thank you for sharing.

Awesome great job Elyshia!
Nice jig 👌😊thank you
Love this, and want to try it with my router! That herringbone round is drool-worthy...
Next video is a tutorial on how to make your own!
How do handle the hole from the screw? Do you add wood filler and sand before painting?
Thank you! Great vid easy to follow
Wish I had all the tool's you have, maybe one day. Xx

What do you mean having your blade sitting up from your board? I'm confused with that?
I need to cut a circle at 7-1/4" How do I find this?
What do you do with hole 🕳 you get after cutting the circle out? I have the same router but I no longer have grey part that it sits in sadly.
