- The mother of executed Iranians celebrates President Ebrahim Raisi's funeral after he died in a helicopter crash. She told RFE/RL she lost 11 relatives to executions under Raisi's rule in 1988.

That's not true.
Raisi was elected by less than a third of the iranian voters. Many did not elected, because so many candidates were excluded from the election. Half of the iranian population hate this Regime.

The Iranian people are entitled to respect. I hope someday they find that respect with leadership of their choosing. Not the current leadership though. An old generation needs to pass. Passing in fog and fire may be an apt metaphoric gift for this brilliant, spiritual, and poetic people.
We have self-respect now and no longer feel the need to seek it from anyone who doesn't offer it unconditionally.
