Honestly, I don't believe that people are streaming R Kelly's music because of clues. As a black person, we experience prejudice in a disproportionate amount and that's just facts. Because of that, we tend to dismiss a lot of things that black men, women, etc. do because to some people... we're always doing something wrong to, even if we aren't. Because of that there's this unspoken need to defend our community even if it's to our detriment. When I talk to people, they typically don't believe the allegations. Yes, you should be innocent until proven guilty but he was protected by this mindset for years and I'm still confused as to why.

They don't always know things and are just trying to have fun, or maybe they're actually trying to be shady but don't realize how serious it is etc. To me it's just how they handle the reaction, if they just go nuts trying to defend themselves, whine in an apology, or actually say something good like "sorry I did not know but now I do and I will keep learning" or even "ok I see where ur coming from I will take that into account in the future but yet I do stand by what I said and won't beat myself up on it". That's what tells about people's characters
