Thanks for the comment Idon'tknow, we need to do a lot of composting in order to build permanent raised beds on our rock hard stoney gravel land that we have. It made a huge difference in our food forest and in our gardens. Thanks for the comment and have a great day!

On average, it takes about 3 to 6 months for our compost to fully break down and be ready to use. We make sure to turn the pile regularly and keep it moist, which helps speed up the decomposition process. When it’s dark, crumbly, and has an earthy smell, we know it’s ready to nourish our garden beds, plants, and trees. Happy composting! 🌿🌼

Thank you for your kind words! Once the compost is complete, it gets put to good use in several areas. We spread it in our permanent raised garden beds to enrich the soil and boost plant growth. We also use it for nursery plants to give them a strong start. Our food forest trees and berry bushes benefit greatly from the added nutrients, helping them thrive. Additionally, we incorporate compost into our herb gardens, ensuring all our plants are healthy and productive. Composting is a key part of maintaining a vibrant and sustainable garden! 🌱🌿

@@GrowingABetterTomorrow this is amazing. I just started working (2 hrs a week) at a farm and my main job is to stir the compost pile. I can’t believe how it is changing in just over a couple of months. I hope they make good use of the final product like you.

Thanks for the feedback, @jamesamos2454! It may look a bit dry in the video, but it's actually quite wet. We've had more rain this summer than we've seen in over a dozen years!

How long does it take to turn a pile?
My largest piles takes over 4 hours however smaller piles which are also titled in videos about 2 hours. One problem is the limited space and the amount of shifting I need to do with my 1970's tractor.
