- We are bombarded with political, economic, and general public debate on a daily basis. The abundance of opinions and ideas is fueled by constant media and social media posts, articles, and blogs that insist that yours, or mine, is superior to someone else's. It creates a scarcity environment in which we develop a fixed mindset - where opportunities are limited while threats seem unlimited. A fixed mindset results in feelings of desperation and frustration because the work cannot be satisfying because success does not exist. But what if we have it all wrong? What if it's not our strategies or tactics that aren't working but instead it's us? Could the problem be something that we believe? Something as simple as choosing to think differently about our own abilities as well as others? I explore these issues in this video.

Why do I find this now??😢 I resigned last year December from my teaching position at a public school after receiving awards for excellence in primary school teaching. I resigned due to numerous reasons, one of them being debts. Yes I was the cream, producing results for the department. However, the salary was a joke; I was living from hand to mouth. I decided took a step that million of young teachers are afraid of, I moved to Asia, and ever since, I’ve been able to save, work efficiently and produced good results😊.

I came to know Christ in jail in 2013 by reading a book, "Overcoming spiritual blindness" by James P. Gills MD. The veil was taken off my eyes. Heaven came through for me in my finances too, getting $25,000 monthly. I can support God's work and give back to my community. God is absolutely more than enough!
I walked away from God when I was younger for many years. I became deceived and lived a sinful life, but God has been faithful and called me back and opened my eyes to my ways. Now I see clearly the times are near and short is the day to prepare. May God open the eyes of everyone He calls His elect and may we serve Him in obedience and with a humble spirit of love and grace to the world that is lost. May we be a light to those that serve the darkness and may we suffer gladly for His name. Amen.

Scarcity mindset that pursues us as a result of wrong environments we choose to live in has pursued and afflicted me most of my life, to the extend of not realizing how blessed I am among my peers, and thereby not living/enjoying the abundance of my blessing to full capacity. Just one example - I never really realized that I can fly from Nairobi to any destination until recently (yes, I had money but still thought it won't happen), because I surrounded myself with people who ply the road - public transport and private cars during vacation to rural homes or funerals (carrying more people to attend village funerals). Oh the joy and peace in discovering where God had placed me many years ago. Blessings that are so visible even right here (my channel has more than 400K subs) but I didn't know my position, and never got to enjoy that privileged position. I'm so glad I now know! This video speaks to me! Vusi, you're an inspiration to me, bro. I'm so proud of you, so proud of my African brothers who don't shy away from being/living who they are, and unashamedly so. Took note of the words; growth mindset and fixed mindset, about four years ago when I visited the Lagos state civil service secretariat, Nigeria. I had a vague idea of what the words meant. This year while undergoing a post graduate diploma in psychology. Our lectures in developmental psychology gave me a practical understanding of growth and fixed mindset.
Listening to your presentation, added another dimension to the concept. That one's environment, and the company one keeps will determine your mindset.

Thanks Vusi, you explained this so well. A growth mindset in an environment of scarcity has been something that has bothered me for some while. I know I can do more and achieve more and looking to make that happen in the next chapter of my life.
I had worked at a company for over 14 years that was honestly, a good company, but it wasn't a great fit for my skills and interests. I was stuck in that environment out of a desire for "security" and "stability". I'm in a much better industry and career track now that pays better and is much more engaging with more opportunities for career growth that I'm interested in. I regret that I stayed at that company for so long, but, still I'm very, very happy I finally the "secure and stable" cage of scarcity.

I always knew that im more than what I am now, I am capable of doing more. Now, the challenge was how to make the move in a right way that would suit me best because I have these ideas and i mean very good ideas and predictions. However, the challenge again is acting enough on them or at least one of them not leaving them halfway one at the time. I also noticed that I need some sortof a blueprint mind map to logical excecate everything.One of those blueprints is listening to experienced individual like you Vusi, who shares so much wisdom, and in most cases is somethings that we are aware of as people but yet never valued or paid enough attention to it.
