I'm sure I got the 'Devil Priest' set first. We went on a bus trip to somewhere, I have no idea where but there was torrential rain and the whole coach group we ended up sheltering in a church. I must have picked these cards up somewhere before but I remember opening the cards in the church for the first time. I must have been pretty young when I got these cause some of them scared me. Risen Dead scared me and I used to have nightmares about Alien Creature. I also remember walking through the woods at sunset with my parents and the Man Eating Plant card (not included in the new sets) springing to mind and me running to stay close to mum and dad!
Oh mate i had that very pack(the one with dracula on the front...me dad bought me them when we were on holiday at whitby......not seen these for over 30 yrs...thanks so much for this....was a massive collector back then.....
4 cards missing from these new sets which is disappointing as it makes them seem incomplete. Man eating plant, the sorceress, Death and Martian Warrior
The Jailer is from Frankenstein, starring Boris Karloff. Colossus was a film from the fifties. High Priestess of Zoltan is from Curse of the Crimson Altar
Great video. Brings back memories. Noticed some cards missing like Death one of the best and the art work is slightly different. less blood on these ones
My brother back in Denmark has the original Devil Priest and Dracula sets, and he’s compared them to these, and the artwork was a lot more bloody and colourful on the originals. Plus these are slightly zoomed in so they actually don’t show you some of the details around the edge of the picture. These cards are quite inferior to the originals. By toning down the colour of the blood, it has reduced the gore somewhat. Plus there are 2 cards missing in each pack.
I have the original sets and maybe I'll do a side by side comparison one day. These are so much cheaper to buy them the 70's ones though so would do as fillers.
The card 'death' is missing which was the best card but I guess the art work is questionable for 6 year olds plenty of blood and gore. The maggot for example is sinking his claws into a man head whilst looking on with curious glee and the jailer is burning a chained up man alive. Frightening stuff.

Excellent memories, thanks for sharing them👍🙂
Awesome stuff! I remember getting the original set with Dracula from Hounslow in the late 70s...great memories 🤟💀
Absolutely, these were the greatest back in the day!

Awesome, they were great weren't they! Glad it brought back some memories 🙂
Great memories. My favourite pack of these in school was Western Gunfighters.
Ah yes, I remember them!
I had that one
Great video, this is bringing back lots of memories!
Thanks mate, these are so nostalgic! I love them!🙂
The Living Skull is Vincent Price from the film Madhouse (1974), and Phantom of the Opera is actually Dr Phibes.
Yep, wonder what the artist was using as a reference?

Man eating plant, the sorceress, Death and Martian Warrior
That's a shame, I wonder why?
The Freak is 'The Reptile', starring Jacqueline Pearce of Blake's 7 fame.
King Kong is Konga, believe it or not.
Madman is Doomwatch.
Thanks 👍🙂
The Jailer is from Frankenstein, starring Boris Karloff.
Colossus was a film from the fifties.
High Priestess of Zoltan is from Curse of the Crimson Altar
Yep, the artist was a real copycat!👍🙂
@@JulesBurt well, it's understandable that horror cards would come from horror films or, at least, science fiction films
For sure and the artist was probably just referencing horror books and mags.

Makes the original sets even more desirable I guess👍
Doctor Syn is Fu Manchu, played by Christopher Lee.
Thanks!

Cool cards jules 👹 congratulations on 500 subs 👍😁
Thanks Gerard, appreciate the continued support!😃
Wow...Great but £50.00s a bit steep...By the way the gorgons the reptile.
Indeed Jeff, happy to have these instead of the original sets now.
The Freak is the Reptile, I've seen the film, starring Jacqueline Pearce before she was in Blake's 7
I have both packs of the originals unused in there cases still
Nice, never seen sealed examples of the original sets👍
👍
👍
How much would you sell them for?
Weird...there are cards missing compared to the original sets
Which ones?
@@JulesBurt Dracula set: The Sorceress and Man Eating Plant. Devil Priest set: Death and Martian Warrior
@@FrankBirtwistle thanks Frank, preserving the value of the original sets now! 🙂
Spot on! Just been playing and noticed this, it took me and the kids about 2 hours to work out which ones were missing!!
Ha! Awesome.😉👍

But great back in the day👍🙂 What cards these were eh?!
They were awesome. I also had the fabulous buggies pack which had the moon rover from diamonds are forever-wasnt a good card though. 😀
I remember that one🙂
Venusian death cell.
Thor was good but his horror rating was weak.
👍🙂
Cheers jules. That talon card was pretty nasty, the way it's just gnawing at the victims neck. Nightmares.
Lol, that was one I remembered from when I was a kid!
