what was the green template made of ? did it go iun the oven aswell or was it removed first ?

The template was thick card wrapped in masking tape. From memory I'm sure I baked it with the Fimo and then removed it once the shape was hardened, c x

where did you get that scribe/awl you are using on the white clay?

It's from Fimo's Professional range. I'm not sure they still make them but you could try looking online for 'fimo professional tools', c x

How durable is this leather clay?

Pretty tough if you don't overwork it to start with (to avoid getting tiny air bubbles in there), you don't roll it too thin, and you bake it properly. I still have a hair decoration made from this and it's standing up well. c x

@@soysaucekitty Buy perhaps a couple of blocks to start with and see how you get on. Maybe a brown if you really want it to look like leather, and maybe a bright colour for fun. If you get white, keep a damp cloth to hand as polymer clay will pick up any dirt from your hands, c x
