1:22 No, the "most minimal entity" does not need dynamic memory...
It doesn't need a "graphic IC" either btw...
This AI(?) narrator clearly does not get it.
Yes AI narrator :) haha
@@djopensource So why don't you speak yourself instead?
@@herrbonk3635 I had my reasons :)
"to the bone" not quite. the video generation is not that easy to understand
Exactly. The idea is to make a computer easy to understand. But that idea is not so viable after all. I will make you a discount if you want to get one as I have 4x pieces to sell.
Quite frankly the video generation on most ZX Spectrum clones is a lot easier to understand than the hackjob that makes up the ZX80/ZX81. To most users the ULA with remain a grey box (just like the Z80) anyways.
@@1337Shockwav3 i managed to understand it (quite) only lately. really clever considering the money saving
@@aldob5681 I've built a Minstrel with a friend and somehow pixel data only would be shown when using a 74HC instead of 74LS like the rest ... seems to be a design that's quite on the edge to being broken and rather hard to grasp. But yeah, Sinclair knew how to make cheap computers (to this day I'm unsure if that helped or hindered things).
