Hey brother... when Swans hit it out of the park... they hit it OUT of the park. They have about a dozen songs that tap so deep into Americana that you can almost feel the Louisiana swamp. I was a tepid fan of their noisecore (?) beginnings. But when the lead singer (Gira) turned into a nouveau-folk artist, I was absolutely astonished. "Blind" is effectively a proto-typical Christian redemption story, except it doesn't quite get to the redemption. I feel like you should listen to Blind, and then to the Reverend Gary Davis, and then the whole schema of humanity uncovers itself. Thanks for the work!
Hey man, hope you're doing well. I'm going to catch up now on videos I've missed from you. Have a good day and stay healthy! nice beard! Edit: if you do a two week thing with Swans, would you run through an album like before? If you want a mix of Swans "normal" sound and maniacal, I would suggest "Children of God" ('89, I believe).
@@frankieseymour3324 I've been going through a transition the last two months. Moving to Washington state with a friend to do music, in two days(neither of us are as knowledgeable as you are). Maybe one day when I get going, we can connect somehow. I have all these ideas but can't play very well but want to learn. Need to buy acoustic guitar and play keyboard more but I've been living in a house with no room, on a couch, with no personal space... but in a few days, I'll have some lol Edit: I could "play" acoustic guitar on keyboard but as you know, it isn't the same.
@@lethalphenomenon6061 Hey man! Not sure why I'm just seeing this but I hope your situation is better now! Yes we should connect! Hit me up if you ever have any question brotha!
Yes I can! Never heard of the song or the band.... But that means it'll be perfect for a reaction video! Thanks for the recommendation and I'll give you a shout-out 👍
Actually, it's Swans (released as Drainland) but this version of Blind is taken from the White Light from the Mouth of Infinity sessions, so you're half right.
Your beard is growing in really well, looks good! Please keep reacting to Swans, not enough people react to their stuff.
Thanks man! I plan on doing more Swans reactions. At least one a week minimum! I really appreciate the support and thank you for hanging out!
Word.
Yep. Huge talent. Extraordinarily creative. More!
Will do brotha! Thanks for the good vibes 🙏
Great reaction btw. I think you'll like the whole album. Swans always makes for an interesting listen
Thank you! Maybe I'll just react to this whole album like I did with "To be kind"!
Would love to see a reaction to apostate. The perfect way to close an album but also stands on its own legs perfectly

Hey. Could you react to I've Got Designs on You by 90 Day Men?
Yes I can! Never heard of the song or the band.... But that means it'll be perfect for a reaction video! Thanks for the recommendation and I'll give you a shout-out 👍
Be interested to see your reaction to earlier swans, like Cop/Greed/Nobody/Blackout/Laugh.
This is Drainland, not Swans..

@@jasonegeland1446 if this is released under Drainland as Gira´s solo-project, then how can it be Swans?
@@vargagrav.sweden Because a portion of it's release contains previously unreleased Swans material.
@@jasonegeland1446 alrighty then. Thanks for responding
