Great explanation. But here's some input for your explanation. BMS works on each series from the batteries. It can't control on each batteries on one parallel configurarion. So it's more relevant if you create the animation for your video on series connection instead of parallel connection
Does the Distributed BMS topology allow for safer and longer operation of unbalanced cells? The use case is as such: if each BMS manages the health along with the voltage & current output for each battery, then the "shared voltage buss" will present a "sum" voltage of all the various voltages on that master buss [that variation should not be substantial]. This allows for the safe and practical repurposing of used batteries. How would you do this?
sir what happen if i use 12.6 full charge battery bank but my charger is only 12 volts. i use 10amp bms, 3 pcs 18650 battery in series =12.6v. the battery will be always on charging state, right? because it cannot reach 12.6v full charge so the bms will not cut the charging because the charger is only 12volts. what will happen to battery?
i dont use a bsm for my trolling motor i just monitor it with a cell checker.. its 100ah but i only use like 30ah to 40ah after fishing for about 4 hours is what i do the most...then i balance charge it..easy to manage but if im going to have a other type of home use i would use a bsm because i dont have to worry about it and check it. i let the bms do the work.. with trolling motor i can see the cells voltage and manage my power use..im using grade a cells 4s. im using close to half the capacity of my battery most all the time when i fish.. iwas thinking of a 200ah size but it will be useless as i dont even use up all my 100ah battery
Nice video, it was well put together. I have a question though, I want to get 10 Battery modules that consist of 12 cells in series for each module. my understandings are that a BMS is mainly for cells in series. so would I be able to get away with just 1 BMS for the entire 10 modules if i run them in series? Wouldnt that be equivilant to 120 cells in series? I would just need 1 BMS that can handle 120 cells in series instead of getting 10 individual BMS for each module?
actually about BMS it's not efficien for example 10P 8S and using only 1 BMS Only, my thought was about faulty change was high how about use BMS every 1 pack of BMS that I mean 8S and 1P of battery that has 1 BMS so 8S and 10P has 10 BMS on it for more acurate discharge and charge reading parameter
All modern Battery systems need a BMS depending on the size of appliance. The batteries are dumb chips, they cannot communicate or do not know when to charge or discharge. Some type of Battery management is required to indicate the Charge level, to control charge and discharge.
Dealing with a BMS issue on 40 volt battery, now at least I know what it does! Great job on explanation !!!
Completely a new field , explained in very clear and depictive manner.
Thankyou, explained BMS in a simple and crisp manner. Keep it up!!
Thank you so much, Glad you liked it!!
The best videos i saw about BMS. I really enjoy watching your videos. Please dont stop 👍👍👍👍
Glad it was helpful. Thank you so much for watching
Glad it was helpful. Thank you so much for watching
Thanks for this content, very good!
really instructive for beginner in basics, That's why l will recommend it to all networks...

Thanks for the info!
Thanks for the great explanation!
My pleasure!
Nice and precise to the point.

Nice video - one question, here what is small PCBS over the cells (voltage and discharge monitoring circuit)
Great video information!

if you use one BMS for 10 modules then BMS will assume it as just one cell. Ideally, BMS should be connected for all cells.
Thank you! So does the centralized topology not use a BMS?
It is useful. Thank you so much for watching!!
Great video!
Where did you get that knowledge from?
Is there any recommended book to go deeper in this topic?🤔
I use multiple datsheets, whitepapers and application notes as references
Do you about good realible BMS for a car conversion?
Thank you so much for watching!!
Tks sir...
Thank you so much! Please show support to my video with Super thanks.
super video
Thank you so much!!
So every single battery pack gets a thermister (not sure how to spell) tk check temps?
Cam the 2 x BMS be connected in parallel, for 2 set of battery banks....?
Yes it is possible but, it depends on the scenario
@@FoolishEngineer appreciate you can possibly sight the scenario. Thanks!
Your awsom
Glad you liked it!!
*You're
Thank youuuuuu
Glad you liked!!!!!
Is it possible to use to 2 slave card and 1 master card for a 12 cell battery pack
Yes
thx for info bro
Any time
How centralised..? By measuring the amount of voltage using ADC and calibrating according to that..?
Not just voltage there are many parameters
Super
Thank you, please subscribe to my channel for more such videos!
I will be an absolute "foolish engineer" if I don't subscribe to your channel.
Super bro
Thank you
enhanced vs balanced bms what's diference ?
Can you please elaborate?
Thxxxxxx

It is not necessary, cells in parallel balance each other.
What on earth does Cfet and Dfet stand for
CFET - Charging FET
DFET - Discharging FET
I want 240v (3.2×80= 256 volt 40ah) batteries bank lfp
You can buy on Ebay!
can u provide us these slides please
These are not slides my friend. It is a total video
bro is there BMS in our smartphones
Yes.
Yes.
