I used to be big into collecting and reading Diary of a Wimpy Kid books when I was a bit younger. I gave up when Double Down came out. I don’t remember why. It was either because I thought I was getting too old (which was ridiculous because I was like 11) or because I didn’t enjoy it as much. I think the last Wimpy Kid book that I really enjoyed was Hard Luck. I kind of think that’s where the golden age ended.
After I gave up I focused mainly on getting the Warriors books (the ones by Erin Hunter) but now I have pretty much all of them so I have to wait a long time between releases and wanted something (easier) to read/collect in the meantime. But surprisingly, still to this day, I don’t think I’ve ever actually finished the first one or Rodrick rules. I watched the first movie at my uncles house and was like well, I know how it ends so
I don’t need to read this anymore. Then I started book 2 and watched the movie at my friends house and had the same thought 😂

When I was in 2nd grade my goodness these books were insanely popular people would steal them from each other ask to borrow them and every release was a HUGE event book fairs etc my goodness I think people would’ve done anything for these books back in 2006 era I also hate when hardcovers get damaged as well especially on the bottom corner gets chipped I think I’ve rebought a couple of the books just because it was damaged that’s why I don’t ever want paperbacks because they get torn or folded etc I can’t stand the hardcovers chipped either I like them in brand new condition
