The company doesn't care about how severe a patients' issues are, or about treating them or their own workers with any semblance of respect as human beings either. And this last one I might be misremembering completely but I think they either are planning to or already have replaced many of their 'therapists' with an AI chatbot "trained" to give counsel...

Me too!! UA-camrs need to take responsibility for their actions but sometimes their fans are way too lenient. Luckily, though, Jack's subs are super down-to-earth and mature and I appreciate that.

They’re also notorious for their unqualified and horrible therapists - you can find a lot of horror stories about them online.
A few years ago Jack was taking sponsorships from them, and after negative reaction from his fans he publicly apologized and stopped working with them. Now he has suddenly started taking sponsorships again and his fans are rightfully upset.

@@youtubeoverload9781 There was a huge controversy with betterhelp a while ago by Memology101 where people hounded UA-camrs for sponsoring the site, and especially Philip DeFranco for being connected to them on a company level.
Now, the video is down due to him being hacked but there's probably reuploads. TheRewiredSoul is a fake therapist who also spearheaded the defense, and Philip DeFranco's response was disgusting.
What makes it even worse with the predatory behavior, is that PewDiePie at the time released a video saying that creators were offered 200$ per person that signed up. It may be different now (hopefully), but at least back then, all the therapists weren't even licensed at all, not a single one.
I just don't think this company is trustworthy, and doesn't actually serve to "help people for the better."

If I may tell a little story about that animation; a few months ago it was freebooted by a popular meme account on twitter. They didn't ask permission and gave no credit whatsoever. Their freeboot of the animation got over 1 million views which is far more views than anything I have ever made in my life, and to see them snatch that milsetone away from me was truly devastating for me.
But now, to have my animation not only be seen by Jack, someone I've been watching for like 15 years now, for it to be the first video he watched, for it to be in this videos thumbnail and for it to actually make him laugh, oh and getting a cool $300 on top of that? Well I feel a great sense of validation from that freeboting incident, I'm super happy and proud to see it here! Thank you for everything Jack and the team!

@@mattinscratch I have heard the contract excuse so many times. It is not correct, in my opinion. A contract would not last this long and Jack has definitely seen the complaints. He simply doesn't care- and I might stop watching him over it. Such a callous, unfeeling grab for money over the mental health of many troubled individuals is not the behavior I expected or wanted from one of my favorite UA-camrs.

I still think it is very stupid and irresponsible of him to sign a contract without checking their reputation and I think it just means he can't respond while in the timeframe.
At the end of the day I think its an excuse for why he hasn't responded. Or more likely a way for viewers to justify watching.

1. They can't guarantee actual professionals to take care of your mental health
2. The pay for the therapists is terrible and they don't earn enough to get by
3. Because of points 1 and 2, a lot of therapists have full-time jobs as well which cause them to be absent from their clients when they're needed
4. I'm not too educated on this bit but apparently they have a history of selling user data which is super scummy
5. A lot of the therapists are not good and some have been proven to just cause more trauma to the clients
6. Despite claiming to match clients up with suitable therapists, in one case a gay man was paired with a homophobe who told him to repress his sexuality to make his family happy
Basically, all-round bad for clients and therapists alike.

As you might know, BetterHelp isn't actually all that great. The therapists aren't licensed and there are other things about them that are a little sketchy. If you are curious, look into it.
However, I do hope Jack is only doing this sponsor because of contractual obligation l. I mean, if I remember correctly, his laugh money for laughs videos also had BetterHelp as a sponsor, so he might have a contractual obligation to have them as sponsors for a specific period of time or specific number of episodes. He probably can't back out of it, meaning he has to do them. Keep that in mind, Jack probably isn't malicious

remember when Jack said he was going to be using the main channel as an output for "big boy content" and the "big boy content" in question for the most part is just him reacting to other people's content that he pays them to make? these videos feel like content for jackisanerd or even JJJacksfilms that's been uploaded to here by accident. this channel's core foundation was built off of PMS, but when was the last time we ever actually got either of those (it's been 7-8 months)? i've been really enjoying the reactionary scandal content that he's been releasing over the last few months, but now it seems as though that's all he's known for, which isn't inherently a bad thing, but when it's been months since anything like the aforementioned has been released, or even in vain to the iceberg or the jumpscare app videos, it starts becoming a personal issue for me. i cant think of the last time i actually sat down and actually watched and enjoyed his content in full, apart from the azzyland video, but even then, it's still pertaining to the "reaction arc". at this point, i'm in desperate need for more original content; videos like this one just aren't cutting it anymore, at least not for the main channel.
