A bit of a miscommunication here between Tom and Me. We accidently included the RTS Imperium Galatica 2 on the list 🤣 so hey its a great game...take it as a bonus! Once again we were just testing you 😉😇
Im certain he intended to, but I think life got in the way almost 2 years back, he said he would be back in 2023 but nothing became of it, but he did note it was a hobby project. As long as you go into it with that in mind I think its fine. In its current state is it fun, if so then enjoy but don't hold your breath for updates :0 Oh the demo for fading suns on steam is the same as the GOG version as far as I know. They mentioned that to me on twitter. Love you guys!
Just the mention of BSG Deadlock...so nice.. i played WAY too many turns not advancing the story just securing all corners of the system and getting together new fleet ideas :D .
I still love to play Imperium Galactica 2 from time to time 🙂 Another great turn based strategy I liked when I was young was M.A.X. 2, also available on GOG in a bundle with the first part.
Mention of #1 makes me even more impatient for Aliance of the Sacred Suns and warmly thinking of a future couple of hours spent with Star Dynasties and Star Traders: Frontiers.
This episode has made me think back to some other rts 4x gems: Reach for the Stars, the Master of Orion series, Star Wars: Rebellion (ok, not exactly it's but you control the speed of the turn). The graphics were limited back then but they were still great games. I'm gonna have to do a series replay on some of these.
EFS was and still is so ambitious. It was also unbalanced and buggy as all hell when it came out too, but fortunately the devs and modding community have mostly made those problems a thing of the past. Still, if I could choose any one game from the 90s to get a modern update/remake, it would be this one. Alliance of the Sacred Suns looks promising, so hopefully it can be a sort of spiritual successor.
Regarding Souls Of White Star there is one caviot to it, devekiopment seems to be dead with no public contact and 19 months since the last update. So if your looking for a complete game experience this is more than likely not it, but if your willing to accept it as it is... get it on a steep discount.(it was 6$ not to long ago so..). I am not sure why in the video portion it is said that the developers are patching the game constantly this is NOT the case.
When I played it previously it was being updated regularly hence my statement, a shame to see it is not the case. I have reached out to the dev to see that status on it to see if we can get some more information. Thanks for highlighting this! - Tom
Oh joy, another "LT" forgotten games video... therefore more money to be spent :) Fortunately I already have a couple of these, so not too much damage done this time (you guys are costing me a fortune though - the joys of being retired and having too much time to play strategy games).
For my money, it's hard to beat good old Master of Orion 2. Even the original MOO still holds up pretty well, but MOO2 is basically Master of Magic in space but with better graphics.
What part of Theocracy is space based? I love Space Empires IV though I'll always have a soft spot for the second game which was my introduction to the series (Though how they avoided copyright claims in II with the number of Star Trek weapons they copied I never understood) I wish the makers of Star Hammer: The Vanguard Prophecy and Battlestar Galactica: Deadlock had made a turn-based Battlefleet Gothic PC game instead of a ground based Warhammer 40,000. As far as I know there has never been a turn-based Battlefleet Gothic PC game just a couple of RTS games and a turn-based mobile game delisted long ago.

Imperium Galactica I and II both are made by people, who made old and forgotten jewel, Reunion.
Glad to see the love for SE4. One of my all time faves
Imperium Galactica 2 is perhaps one of the best games I have ever played in my entire life. It's definitely among my personal TOP 5.
Just the mention of BSG Deadlock...so nice.. i played WAY too many turns not advancing the story just securing all corners of the system and getting together new fleet ideas :D .
I'm back playing it. Wonderful game 🚀
@@LTGamingUA-cam The best thing ? Once i finally finished the base game it LET ME CONTINUE THE SAVE for the expansion just like that. I was in heaven.
Thats amazing. I bet you enjoyed that :)

Excellent list guys. From fond memories through to never heard and wishlisted.
@@nashrussell753 we appreciate it mate 🚀
SEIV was the best. Played so much of that game. The modding community for it keep it alive for along time.
SE4 is awesome! One of the best games I've played. Really deep strategy, easily moddable, it has it all.
Great video fellas. I haven't heard of any of these! I'm looking at Emperor, Star Hammer, and Souls. Some fun hours, just ahead!
SE4 is awesome! Good call! SE3 and 5 are great too!
I forgot all about Space Empires IV. Thanks for the reminder.
Got Imperium Galictica 2 on GOG a while ago after playing back in the day, still as fun as it was then
Gladius is a great turnbased strategy. Maybe not forgotten but not overly popular either.
I reviewed it! An incredible game 🚀
That's because it's not fun to play.
@@jimmyjohns3261 lies!
@@LTGamingUA-camAre you aware of Zephon, the followup game in the same engine?
@christopherg2347 yes was supposed to review it but ran out of time!
Space Empires IV lacks the ability to change the resolution, which takes the fun out of it for me. A very short sighted choice by the developers.
It works with Display Changer (dc64.exe). I usually set an 1366x768 resolution!!
Hey, got a new game to pick up. Thanks for the list.

A pretty stellar list of games there!
MOO2 is still the standard for the 4X space genre IMHO
Excellent blast from the past and present!
EotFS and deadlock and deadlock 2 were bloody good and damned hard. i used to own copies of 'em.
Shout-out to an old turn-based fav of mine I still play from time to time - Fallen Haven.
Ascendancy. Played that for years.
The 1st one, Emporer of the Fading Sun, looks pretty good.
I will be picking this up once it shows up on Steam.
One of the best games I ever played 🚀
Some fantastic games, some I have played before. I'm on the fence on Emperor of the Fading Suns, but I got too many unfinished games on my plate...

Just got a patch in 24 and another for 25 planned. Both fixing AI for the remake
I played Fading suns when it first came out. Many a long night of playing.
Its a great game one of my favourites!
@@LTGamingUA-cam Has the braindead AI been fixed?
It got a new patch this year fixing AI! Next patch 2025 fixes even more.
@@Njordin2010 Wow!
Still play MOO Master of Orion 1, so much replay-ability
WOW. Just WOW 💖

hahaha that did make me laugh :P ooops! Enjoy that retirement!
Never heard about _Souls of White Star_ thanks! 🙂
Emperor of the Fading Sun forgot that this existed and it was in the fading suns TTRPG universe
Was that last game playing Adagio for Strings in the background?
Kharak is burning ...
What are your thoughts on Sword of the stars? It was one of my all time favourite 4x lite titles
always love showcasing games like these!

You can download the MoO1 remake, Remnants of the Precursors, for the great price of nothing
Star Hammer was great but the same enemy got boring pretty quick. it got 18 hours out of me ^^

Wasn't Imperium Galactica real time with pause?
Yeah we edited in the wrong game 🤣😇
@@LTGamingUA-cam aaah makes sense! Good to know my sanity wasn't abandoning me! XD

Emperor of the fading suns just got a patch! Fixing AI. Plus another planned for 25 fixing even more. Yay 🎉
👌👌👍👍👍👍
"6 Forgotten Turn Based Strategy Games!" wtf. imperium galactica is NOT turn based
Yep we edited in the wrong game, see the pinned comment :)
