One thing that I could say about this cadence is no matter what anybody else plays, JSU could always just play this cadence and it would sound good enough for whatever anybody else is playing LOL. Santa Clara Vanguard??? Well, directly after SCV get through playing all of the stuff that they play, JSU could be in the background behind them jamming with this and sound good while playing less notes.
VERY nice! Jack State is probably the best line I've ever seen in person. I marched CGHS in Gwinnett County in the late 90's and we thought UGA's line was awesome...until Jack State rolled in as the exhibition band at a competition one year. Glad to see that bass line is still kicking it now just like they were then!

It’s not that unusual for large college lines to have a lot of cymbal players. The director, music department, and/or athletic department may want to field large numbers just to “look cool”, so they’ll take a lot of cymbal players that try out for the line but couldn’t hang on a drum. Also, since college bands tend to play a lot of stuff that begs for drum set grooves, a lot of percussion directors like to have enough cymbal players so that every snare player can have someone to hold hi-hats for them and still have cymbal players left over to play crashes.
Apparently 168,000 people auditioned for the line this year and they could only take half of them.
Probably the grooviest cadence I've ever heard. Those bass splits...
wongfei listen to an hbcu drumline for grooviness bro
iefgnow electric wheelchair
JSU and Norfolk State can groove with the best of them.

James Grago who ever center snare is can come up with the most groovy tap off
Michael Doudan ok, thanks!
I know It's kind of late but I just transcribed the tap off so I wouldn't forget it and I'm fine emailing it to you

Tell me about the center snare, because wow is he cute!
MisterL30N he's in the blue coats
@Jacob Long no he isn’t, the center snare is the one to the right of josh foust( Bluecoats marimba player )
Center Snare is Ben Williams. He marched Mandarins and Music City Mystique. He is now the snare tech at Atlanta CV.
The dood next to center snare did pit for bluecoats
Tight
Be a Man.
Why does the 3rd guy at 1:20 with shades on look like he’s 13 or 14..
Well damn...
Nice!! and hmm interesting tenors..
They're called "flubs"
+Nathanael McDaniel Ohh ok, thanks
How heavy is the 7th bass drum
I think it's just a 5th bass. they have one 1st bass,two 2nd basses,two third basses,one 4th bass and one 5th bass.
Jovanni Pacas-Worsham it doesn't go by actual order, it goes by size. in inches
These are the sizes. (correct me if i'm wrong)
1st-18 2nd-20 3rd-24 4th-26 5th-32
Jovanni Pacas-Worsham try about 45-55 pounds
and the sizes are, from smallest to largest, 20", 22", 24", 26", 28", 30", and 32".
What is the song’s title?
This is the cadence for the Jacksonville State Marching Southerners Drumline
one of the snare players look like thor lmao
Its weird the first guy you see is my high schools drum instructor now
T_O _Nicks you have a quality instructor then.
Then you must go to Rome High School

1:38 is a classic.
Like they all owned it so good and I just love stuff like this so much. College band. It's fun. That was hilarious.
Snare girl gets it lol .................eveyone check those levels plz thank you reset one more time ........... staff???
Bruh why yalls cymbal line so massive
I’m thinking the same thing. But wcu is a college band but I mean when they went to march in the Macy’s thanksgiving parade they had like 63 cymbal.

I think that the front ensemble members play cymbals with the drumline when not playing shows. I could be wrong though

Never seen a college line march flubs before...interesting. groovy little cadence though
0:07 so that's what Thor's been up to..

It's okay. A little too much going on. Less is more. And I never liked vocals in a cadence.
Sheet music?
