Super cute build! I love watching these videos because my sims always end up with way too many kids and no money to move out of their tiny house/apartment... I always say "ok this is the last one FOR SURE" and then the infant ages up, the pain of caring for an infant is instantly forgotten, I say "oh just ONE more couldn't hurt", rinse and repeat. And just an FYI, you can play with more than 8 sims in a household without mods! And in my experience it doesn't even lag too badly. It's a little finicky but once you know what you're doing it's easy.
You can add a sim to your household by pressing ctrl + shift + c to open the command bar thingy, and type in testingcheats true. With testingcheats enabled you can shift + click on any, and I mean ANY sim and a debug wheel of options will appear. You can do a ton of fun stuff with this wheel but one of the options is "add to family". This command will work regardless of how many sims you already have in your household. They will move straight in, no transfer of money, no relationship breakdown, no glitches. They straight up just live with you now.
This little trick can be abused to make families larger than 8 sims all live under the same roof. So, say I have a married couple, four teens, three kids, and a toddler, but I want them to have another baby. I'd go into manage worlds and into the household manager, select my household and split it into two households, the new household consisting of maybe one teen and the kids. Don't give them any money or move them in anywhere. Now go back to your main household and get the parent pregnant (you don't have to wait for the birth or anything, just pregnant is enough), or have a science baby, or adopt, or whatever you want to do. After you've acquired your new spawn in whatever form it takes, use the phone to invite your temporarily homeless teen and kids over to your house. If you do the baby making quick enough they might not even have left the lot, and use the "add to family" cheat to move them straight back in! They won't even lose what's in their inventory. I do this all the time.
There are only two drawbacks to this trick. One being that this isn't unlimited, however your new limit is 16, double what it was before which is great. I've never personally used all 16 slots but you never know. It's 16 since to split up a household, the limit of how many sims can be on either side of the split household is still 8. The second drawback is the CAS deletion glitch. If you enter CAS with a household larger than 8 sims it will delete any extra members. Permanently. So you can't enter CAS unless you want someone to get randomly thanos snapped from the code of your game. This can be avoided by doing the split household trick again, if i've got a family of 12 and want to change their appearances, ill just split off all the ones that need editing, edit them, then add them back in. However if you forget and just enter CAS on autopilot with no recent saves to go back to it can be pretty heartbreaking. But in my opinion it's still worth it to achieve my fourteen baby dreams.
